Rose's POV
"W-what.... How?...." I stammered in complete shock. "How the fuck is this possible?..."
I don't understand. I know she died. I watched my mom kill her. I don't fucking get it. My first thought was that this was somehow a trick, a cruel, sick and twisted joke. But her overwhelming presence is unmistakable.
"You've gotten so big..." She whispered while holding me. "It's so good to see the two of you.."
'Wait.. two of you?...'
Thinking that maybe Cici had walked up behind me I turned my head just to see that nobody was there. Both Cici and Vicebrook were still in the main room, so who was she talking about?
"You've raised her well Alice." She said with a smirk while looking behind me.
'Wait can she..'
"Lily... Can...can you see her? Can you see my mom?"
That's not possible is it? I normally wouldn't have even entertained the idea but then again she is a Fenrir. A mythic class beast. I can't even imagine what she might be capable of.
Quickly reaching behind me and unsheathing my mom's sword, I held it in both hands and looked Lily dead in the eye.
"Well?.. Can you?!?!.."
For a minute she was just standing there staring at the blade when suddenly she started to tear up and nod her head. After using her sleeve to wipe the tears falling down her cheek she looked right at me and smiled.
"I can't physically see her no." She said, making my hope diminish instantly. "But, I can still see her using my ability to see mana in it's purest form. She said to give you a message."
Immediately my heart started racing as I heard that.
"And?!?!" I asked impatiently.
"She said that she loves you and then said, 'stay strong little one, I know you can do it, we WILL see each other again'."
As soon as she finished talking I suddenly found myself on the floor. My legs just gave out on me. It felt like the weight of the world was just lifted off my shoulders.
I knew my mom's soul was in the sword, at least part of it anyway. But I never actually believed she was with me. I thought that since I didn't have the other blade, the other half of her soul, that she wasn't here.
But to find out that she actually was here, that she's actually been here this whole time, I broke down. All this time I had felt so alone. I was completely lost. But I was never alone, she has always been here by my side.
I couldn't hold it in anymore, couldn't hold myself together. All the pain, the loneliness, the fear.. all the emotions I've held back while trying to remain strong, suddenly burst forth like a damn breaking and I cried. I cried harder then I ever have before.
Then, unexpectedly, I suddenly felt Lily sit down beside me, pull me into her chest and just hold me as I cried. I have no idea how long we sat like this. How long I broke down in her caring embrace. But she never once let go.
After what felt like days I was finally able to calm down a little bit and stop crying. I just stayed there letting Lily hold me just like my mom used to. After a little while of sitting like that in silence, I pulled away from her a little bit to wipe the tears streaming down my face and look at her.
"Thank you... Thank you so much..." I all but whispered.
"Anytime sweetheart, anytime." She replied in a sincere tone. "Now then, how about we get to why you actually came here shall we?"
