                                   Lily's POV

"So the most efficient way to go about this would be for us to split up." Rose told us while pacing back and forth. "We'll spend the day trying to see if anyone around here knows even a little about what we're looking for. Seeing as how you've been here before could you tell us the general layout of the town?"

I couldn't help but giggle a little bit when she asked me that. She's trying so hard to be so serious. After laughing a little more as she glared at me for giggling, I thought about it for a second before telling her what I knew.

"Well this town isn't exactly huge but it isn't small either. There is no nobles district or anything, thankfully, but there is a sort of official's district. That's where you'd find the guards barracks and the town hall as well as the mansion that this towns lord lives in."

"Still better than a bunch of stuck up self centered nobles that think their shit don't stink.." Cici remarked making us all laugh, even the oh so serious Rose.

"True that. Other then that there is the merchant and business district where you'd find the market and the local guilds. The area we're currently in is the residential area where most of the people and the majority of the inns are. Like I said, neither huge nor small."

After I finished explaining the layout of the town Rose stood there deep in thought. She's so cute when she's trying to take charge of things. Of course I refrained from telling her that, but just from the smile on Cici's face I could tell she thought the same.

I ended up walking over to the bed and plopping myself down on it while we waited for Rose to finish coming up with our game plan.

"Ok. That actually works out in our favor. Three of us, three main sections. Lily, can you cover the official's district? You're more refined and cool headed then either me or Cici plus you've been here before." She asked after a couple minutes of thinking.

I couldn't help but smile at the way she put that. Flattering and true, she's good at this. I guess I could go snoop around this towns bigwigs. What could go wrong.

"I suppose I can do that. What our you guys going to do? I hope you're not just trying to get some 'alone time' by sending me to the other side of town." I teased. Both of their cheeks instantly turned red but they held different expressions. Cici was grinning like a fool and Rose, as usual, shit me a death glare.

"Quit joking around, you know we're here for a reason. We need to try to figure this out as soon as we can. We're not here to mess around." She all but yelled, still red in the cheeks. As soon as she said that I swear I heard Cici's heart break. It seems Cici had a ulterior motives to wanting to stay the night in town.

"Anyway," Rose continued to explain her plan before anything else could be said. "I'm thinking since Cici's a lot cheerier and much better with people then I am, she can cover the residential area. Which leaves me with the merchant/business district. You ok with that Cici?"

"Yep, I guess so." Cici said whilst still pouting.

"Right, so then that's our game plan. I say we meet up back here just after the sun sets to go over what we've found. Remember, we're not here for the festival or to mess around, try and find out as much as you can without drawing any attention to yourselves."

With that said she immediately turned around and walked out the door. I swear, that girl has absolutely no tact. I get that she's just trying to bring Alice back but she is pushing herself too hard. With everything that's going on and everything that's happened, she'll end up doing more harm then good if she keeps going like this.

Letting out a big sigh I got up and walked over to Cici, pulling her in for a hug as I did. The poor thing was just standing there looking lost and staring at the door Rose just walked out of.

"Don't worry little one, she just has a lot on her plate right now. I know why you wanted to come here and I fully agree that we all need a break, but right now her mind isn't in the right place. All I can do for her is to help by taking some of the weight off her shoulders." I said while holding her close and rubbing her back. Then pulling back with my hands still around her, I made her look up at me before continuing.

"You however, I have a feeling that you might actually be able to get to her. I understand how you feel and that you don't want to do anything to ruin what you have. But here's the thing, sometimes you have to be a bit more assertive. Make her listen to you." After I said that she just kinda looked at me like I was crazy before she resolved herself and put on a determined look.

"Anyway, we better get going as well, who knows maybe you'll actually find something. I'm sure she'd give you one hell of a reward if you did." I said with a wink before turning around and heading out the door myself.

'I'm glad I asked for my own room.'
