Chapter 38: Bewildered forest and Shinx

A few days passed by and Ash caught himself a turtwig while you failed to catch a goddamn Bidoof ( the God).

Everyone was eating their breakfast while coming up with a plan to defeat the gym when suddenly piplup, Spearow, turtwig and aipom got into fight.
Immediately going over to see what was happening, everybody saw Paul coming out of the bushes.

"Hey guys look, it's Paul" Arlo said
"What're you doing here?" You asked
"I'm just out here, doing a little training to get ready for my Oreburgh gym battle" Paul said calmly
"What you know, well I'm going there too!" Ash informed
"Am I seeing things or is that a turtwig your new pokémon?"
"That's right!" Ash said lifting the turtwig up from the ground "and he's ready for the gym!"

"Doesn't look much to me" Paul smirked making Ash furious
"What do you mean by that?!" Ash fumed in anger.

That's when Spearow came from a tree munching on fruit it found and sat on your head cutely.

"Neither does that Spearow"
"What do you mean by that?! Let's have a battle then! I'll show you how strong my pokémons could be!"
"Fine. My last battle with Ash left a bad taste in my mouth and i want to give my friend here a chance for another battle" he said letting his chimchar out

"Alright then, Spearow, you ready?" Spearow nodded before flying from your head and standing infront of you
"I'll be the referee again then" Brock said
"Ah don't waste your time, we all know who's going to win this" he said

The battle started near a waterfall with the three watching the match while sitting on a bark
"You can go first" Paul said
"Okay then, Spearow! Use tackle!" Spearow started flying at full speed towards its opponent
"Dodge it" the chimchar quickly jumped and got ready to hit
"Don't let it hit you! Use drill peck!"

Chimchar dodged the move too and stood back
"Ember"
"Counter with fury swipes!" Both the moves collided and the pokémons stood back "alright! Focus energy!"

"Waste of time" Paul said harshly "finish with flame wheel!"
"Okay Spearow, use Sky attack!"
Chimchar and Spearow both got hurt but still managed to stay on the ground
"Alright! Use Tackle once more!" Before Spearow could attack, team rocket took it away in a net and finished their motto

Paul ordered chimchar to burn team rocket which it did
"You're wrecking our battle! Get lost"
"Well there's a twerp with a different colour" James said as the fire cooled down
"Look team rocket! You give me back my Spearow!"
"Spearow?" The three confusedly asked "i thought Pikachu's in here" meowth said "ah! Pikachu's out there!"
"What're you colour blind?" Jessie scolded James
"And here i thought Y/N was pathetic"

"Hey!" You yelled
"How dare you!" Jessie said "educate the new twerp if you please"
"You're wasting our time! Starly quick! Go and save Spearow! Use quick attack!"
"And Pikachu use thundershock!"

The bursting of the balloon exerted a gust of wind back at you, Paul and Ash which made the three of you fall down the cliff right on the waterfall.
"Hey! Watch out!" Arlo said as he went to see if you three were fine
Paul managed to act like a ninja and fall down safely while your two bird pokémons managed to hold you in time and brought you down safely and Ash fell directly on the water with Turtwig.

"Hey you three!" Dawn shouted
"Are you guys alright?"
"Yeah I guess!" You and Ash replied back
"Let's meet on the far side of the forest!" Brock pointed towards the end
"Okay!" You shouted back "let's go then Ash" you returned the two pokémons back and watched how Paul started walking away

"Hey slow down, Paul" Ash said as he caught up to him followed by you "what're you doing?"
"Getting outta here"
"Since all of us are getting outta here together, let's just get out together" Ash said
"That sounds stupid"
"What's so stupid in helping each other out?" You finally asked as the two stopped walking
