Chapter 89: A new crush, huh?

"Where could it be? Where could it be?!" You frantically searched through the empty hallway, trying to find the infamous mischievous mythical pokémon before someone else finds it and creates a scene.

"Did you find it?" You heard Ash shout from the other end of the hall.
"No, I haven't!" You replied, looking at him in defeat, "What if Team Rocket has captured it?!"
"No way, don't think of the negative!"

You could hear the first round still going on and the judges commenting on each move. You had to be back before the start of the second round, because Arlo's match was more important than Stephan's.

"Y/N, I couldn't find it." Iris said, approaching you from other hallway.
"Damn it." You groaned, "I just hope it's safe and away from people's eyes..."
"Victini will be fine...Relax Y/N." Ash reassured, patting your back.
"Yeah...relax" you frowned.

You walked back to the field with Ash and Iris, to find Stephan won and Cilan had already left with Arlo for their match.

"Oh the second match is gonna start already?" You asked, looking around.
"Who will you be rooting for, Y/N?" Stephan asked, standing beside you.
"Hm? Oh Stephan! Congratulations on your victory!" You quickly said with a smile, causing him to grin and scratch the back of his head sheepishly.
"Oh it was nothing." He replied.
You turned your gaze back on the field, "To answer your question, I won't be supporting either of them. I just want my Lucario to win."
"Eh? Isn't it the same as Arlo winning?"
"No. Lucario." You furrowed your eyebrows, watching Arlo in frustration, 'This kid...'

Stephan tilted his head in confusion before getting called by Bianca and going away.

After the introduction got over, the match finally started.

'I really want Lucario to win, but if he does, Arlo will have his ego boosted...'

"Lucario, use quick attack!"
"Alright Pansage—dodge!"

Of course Pansage couldn't dodge it and was sent flying into the ground.

"Pansage, are you okay?" Cilan asked, and seeing it give a nod, he continued, "Okay! Now use bite!"
"Lucario, force palm!"

Pansage was hit way too hard and crashed against a small hip of mud.

"Bone rush, quick!" Lucario nodded and sprinted with a bone in its hand before attacking with it.

By now Pansage was way too weak to even stand, but it somehow did.

"Pansage, use Solar Beam!"
"Oh?"

"Oh" you whispered, 'You can't lose to a Solar Beam now c'mon Lucario.' you thought, 'use Close combat, dragon pulse, or atleast aura sphere!!' you puffed your cheeks, and crossed arms over your chest.

"Lucario, aura sphere, go!"

Lucario striked a kamehameha pose and formed an aura sphere before releasing it towards Pansage before it could fully finalize it's Solar beam and defeated it.

"Oh boy" you sighed in relief and walked back inside the hallway, really not wanting to see Arlo's victory.

"WOAH! THAT LUCARIO WAS AWESOME!" Stephan marveled.
"MHM MHM! I KNOW RIGHT!" Bianca agreed.
"Meh, it was basic. Any lucario can do that" Burgundy out of jealously said with a pout.

Trip quickly went over the pictures he had taken of the battle with an awestruck gaze.

'So this is how a Lucario battles. Interesting.'

The next two matches were won by Ash and Iris, and after that, Don George put a stop and declared a lunch break, meaning your match was gonna take place in the afternoon.
