Chapter 90: The new-old enemy...

Another day without Victini and you started to think that maybe it has already left due to so many people being here.

So thinking of the best, you decided to just look forward to the matches.

Don George announced the match-ups for the day and it was Montgomery vs Iris, Betty vs Ash, Stephan vs Arlo and you vs Trip.

"Looks like my last night's wish came true. We are rivals today!" You said to Trip who chuckled and walked away.

"Y/N, I'll get your revenge on Montgomery today! Don't worry!" Iris reassured with enthusiasm.
"Thank you, Iris!" You smiled.

Iris walked away to enter the field after getting good luck wishes from everyone, but that's when you realised that Arlo was nowhere to be found. Same goes for Lucario too.

"Hey Ash, have you seen Arlo anywhere after breakfast?"
"Arlo? I thought he came here with us?"

You looked around with a frown.

Stephan seemed to have caught you looking around with a sad face, so he went to approach you.

"Hey Y/N?" He called, "is everything alright?"

The moment he asked that, Ash's ears perked up and he narrowed his eyes, trying to secretly watch the two of you.

"Yeah, I am. I was just wondering where Arlo was at." 'He's still my brother after all. I can't let him be out of my sight...cherry on top, I already lost Victini...'

"Wasn't he just here?" Stephan asked, looking around, "I swear I saw him here with us a few minutes ago. He prolly went to the bathroom or something."

Suddenly, you heard the announcer's mic going off and Montgomery and Iris appearing on the field.

You got distracted from your initial thoughts, and started looking at the field again.

As both the trainers threw their pokémon on the field, from the corner of your eye, you saw Arlo coming back with Lucario, looking rather tensed. You examined his nervous and sweaty face for minute before looking back on the field.

'something is up...'

The first two round got over and Montgomery and Ash ended up winning in those two matches.

Now, it was Arlo's match with Stephan and throughout the match, you looked quite skeptical.

Unlike yesterday's match, you swore you can see Arlo panicking, acting a bit nervous, and was stressing out a lot. Which wasn't suppose to happen because he already fought with Lucario the day before. But you couldn't understand what was wrong.

After a messy fight, Arlo managed to come out as the victor, and then finally, it was you vs Trip.

"Best of luck, Trip! You will be needing it." You smirked, feeling confident on Hitmonlee.
"I should be saying that." He smirked as well, before throwing Conkeldurr's pokéball into the field.

"Match—–begin!"

"Use Stone edge!"

The strone edge was quite powerful and did pretty good damage to Hitmonlee.

"Okay...we can do this! Hitmonlee, use close combat!"

Hitmonlee used one of its most powerful attacks, and almost did the same amount of damage as it recieved.
