The group finally made it in Castelia City for the third Gym battle.
"We made it! Gym battle here I come!" Ash cheered. "Castelia City is pretty big." Iris observed. "Right. While we're here, we have to find a place called the 'Castelia Cone'. Their ice cream's famous" Cilan said. "Yes! I heard about them!" Arlo's eyes sparkled. "Then let's go before the gym battle!" You excitedly said. "No way! After the Gym battle!" Ash sternly replied. "Such a hater!" You whined.
Taking the shortcut to the gym to Central Plaza, everyone bumped into the gym leader, Burgh himself, who said that he can't battle today and explained that the bug types were acting weird.
"The bug-type Pokémon, they've picked up the scent of something last night and have been restless ever since." He explained, just when a weak Joltik fell from the tree. "Woah! Is it okay?" You asked in worry. "It seems weak" Burgh said, "here" he gave it an apple and helped it back to get back on the tree. "Y'know, i've heard that bug-type Pokémon become restless when something bad is about to happen." Iris stated. "That's right...It's also scientifically proven that bug type Pokémon have an ability, they can sense electromagnetic waves." "I sense something too! From over there!" Iris pointed at a direction.
"Castelia cone and it's closed to boot." "Man, I think you just wanted some ice cream." Ash sweatdropped. "How dare you!" Iris snapped in embarrassment.
Pikachu then heard something from the manhole, "Something wrong with the manhole cover?" Ash asked. "Burgh what's under here?" Arlo asked. "A sewer. It runs underground from the outskirts of the city to the river. Hold on- come to think of it, I remember a Pokémon was able to get into the city from this sewer." Burgh said. "Then maybe there's something down there." "Then let's hop in!" You said.
Everyone climbed down and started to explore the place when suddenly a pokémon was seen, stuck inside a pipe. The pokédex informed it to be Venipede which Ash managed to get it out of the pipe despite the danger and warnings from others and fell on the ground.
"Ash!" You shouted, "are you okay?!" "That was dangerous!" Arlo scolded. Venipede thinking that the gang was danger, started using screech, "It's using screech!" Cilan shouted. "It thinks we're it's enemies!" Iris said. "VENIPEDE STOP!" Ash shouted.
Venipede being too weak to keep on using screech, collapsed on the ground.
Ash tried to help it, but it hissed at him, "Come on, we're not gonna hurt you, don't worry." Ash persuaded, but Venipede headbutted Ash, "You see, all I wanna do is help you." He said making the venipede finally understand, "That's good....hey Burgh, Venipede's hurt...can you please- uhh." Ash mumbled before fainting on the floor.
