Chapter 61: Giratina: The God of Death

You open your eyes and the new place was weird.
You felt light, almost as if you could jump and you'll be so high up in the air.
Gravity felt complicated at this new place.
It was dark with weird mud slabs flying in the air, with no signs of any living creatures, and Cyrus was nowhere to be seen.

"This place...Can you feel it? There are no Pokémon here at all. Time isn't flowing and space isn't stable. A world where the rules are broken. A space one might call the Distortion World... Let's find Giratina. We need it to stop the spreading distortion at the Spear Pillar..."
"This is...the distortion world then" Ash mutters and look around the place with the others, while Cynthia moves forward a bit, the shadow creature flies away from above, startling everyone.
"That was...Giratina...! We have to hurry! If something's not done the distortion will swallow not only our world, it will overwhelm the Distortion World..." She says and rushes forward down the path.

"This place looks scary...." Dawn says and looks down the floating slab everyone was standing on, only to shriek when she sees what's down.
"What's wrong Dawn?" You ask and look down with the others, "n-no way!" You instantly stand back, "how deep is this place?" You ask and start to walk, the others following behind.

Everyone jumps from the muddy road to the slab Cynthia was on.
"This rock slab... It appears to move if you step a certain spot. Try stepping on the dark patch in the middle" she says and Barry does the honour.
"Woah! It moves!" He gasps dramatically as the slab moves downwards.

"Look from what I'm seeing, this place is gigantic and we need to split up to find Cyrus as fast as we could" Brock says
"That's true, we don't know where Giratina and Cyrus could be at, if we split up over there it might be faster to find them" Cynthia points at a slab which was a bit down and had so many slabs in different directions around it. "In distortion world, do we keep going downwards?" She asks to herself and starts walking away.

"Guys look it's Mesprit!" Dawn exclaims as Mesprit circles around and points towards the road, "do you want us to follow you?" She asks and earns a nod.
"Woah! This slab is in side ways!" You gasp
"How're we gonna jump there? We will fall to our death!" Barry panics
Mesprit shakes her and kept pointing towards the slab.
"Alright, I'll do it" Dawn says
"Dawn! You can't be serious!" Brock says
"I believe in Mesprit so I'm sure I'll be fine" she smiles and nervously jumps on the slab, only to realise that gravity isn't working like the way it should and she was fine.
"So it means anything could happen in this world"

Mesprit twirls and disappears quickly, and everyone carefully starts to hop from one slab to other.

"So this is where you guys will separate, am I correct?" Cynthia asks
"Yeah, and we think it'll be better if two people stay together, just in case" Brock says, making her nod.
"Alright then, I'll catch up with you all later, I want to study this place a bit, you know, it's an once in a lifetime opportunity, I can't let this slip away" Cynthia explains
"We get Cynthia!" Ash says
"If it's any help, I have this with me" You take out a camera out of your bag, "It's Arlo's. I forgot to give it to him a few days ago, I'm sure he won't mind if you take a few pictures"
Cynthia smiles in delight, "thank you!" She takes it from you and everyone separates from each other.

"Hey Y/N! Wait up!" Barry calls you from behind
"Barry! What is it?"
"I thought that i should go with you!"
You look at him in confusion, "huh? Why?"
"Uhm- cause- um" He stutters a bit, "c-cuz- i dont know! I didn't wanted to travel in this weird world alone! And Dawn, Ash and Brock were already so far away!"
You look back and indeed the trio were really far away.
"Alright then" You say making Barry sigh, "you know, I'm a bit nervous about being here too"
"Really? You don't look nervous" He says making you chuckle.
