Chapter 96: Junior Cup

It was finally the day for the Junior Cup to begin!

You've spent the past few days training for both the dual performance with Dawn and the matches with your friends.

It felt so good to be with so many of your friends to compete in a tournament again.

When the stadium was at the sight, you could barely control your excitement but Alder was even more excited than you at the sight of Cynthia and started hitting on her.

'Reminds me of Brock' you thought, sweatdropping at the dramatic sight with the others.

You were standing with Paul and Barry when you noticed someone approaching Alder. It was Trip.

"Trip's here." You informed the group.
"Who's Trip?" Dawn and Barry asked at the same time.
"He's our rival. Let's say Trip is kinda over-confident and acts like a know-it-all person?"

Trip didn't seem to notice you, nor the group and went straight to Alder.

"Who is he Alder?" Cynthia asked.
Alder scratched his head, "Uh, lets see...I know this.." Alder turned to Trip, "Give me a hint?"

Trip immediately said his name, clearly done with Alder forgetting his name everytime.

"Of course!" Alder laughed, "Good to see you, Tristan-"
"Trip. Not Tristan!"
Ash walked up to Trip, "So you're entering the tournament too?"
"Of course, because the winner will get to battle against Alder. It's basic stuff." Trip then looked at Alder again, "Mark my words. I guarantee you I'm going to win this tournament."
"Sounds like you're feeling confident, son." Alder replied.
"Of course, and then, I'm going to win when I battle against you. Then I'll prove that you being the Unova Champ is so yesterday."

Trip didn't even glance at you and just walked away angrily.

"What's wrong with him today?" Iris asked.
"No clue..." Arlo replied.

"That Alder sure is colorful.." Dawn stated.
"Sure is" Iris agreed.

"A big head with big hair" A voice cut Iris off and left her frozen. She turned around to find that it was none other than Georgia.
"You still have no taste in hairstyles, though as a little kid you're an expert." "Ax xew xew,"
"Fun-ny!" Georgia groaned, "Look-better not lose before we battle! Wimpy Dragon Masters battling this Dragon Buster don't stand a chance!"

You groaned in frustration at the classic argument of theirs.

"Who's she?" Dawn asks.
"Georgia, Iris's rival" You replied.

Cilan smiled, beginning to walk ahead, "I suggest we leave all this behind and make our way inside-"
"Stop-vite!" Burgundy slid in front of Cilan. "This fellow Connoisseur is going to beat the bow tie off of you certainement!"

"Who's that?" Barry asked.
"Burgundy..." Ash groaned.

Cilan kept smiling, "I see. Well then look forward to our battle." He held out his hand, but Burgundy didn't shake hands.
"I hate when you pretend to be nice!"

She noticed Barry, Paul and Dawn and spoke, "Alors, new faces. Are you three friends with Cilan?"
Dawn nervously replied, "Why yes we are..."
"WELL KEEP YOUR GUARD UP AROUND HIM! HE'LL START BATTLING AWAY ABOUT HIS WORTHLESS EVALUATIONS UNTIL YOUR EARS FALL OFF!"
"Thanks...for the warning," Dawn and Barry looked up at Burgundy towering over them while shouting and were shivering, and this entire scene was making Paul annoyed.

"Sorry about her" you chuckled while apologizing to Paul.
"It's fine, I guess..." He scoffed and walked away.

"There sure are a lot of pains in the neck around here..." Dawn sighed.
