As soon as the airplane landed at the airport, you wasted no time to call your parents and ask their locations before running out of the airport, hoping that you will dash out of Ecruteak too, without looking anywhere, but boy, you were wrong.

Just as you stepped out of the airport, the nostalgia hit you. Even the air was bringing back old bittersweet memories.

"Ecruteak..." you mumbled.

All the good, bad and terrible memories came rushing through. Even the one you don't want to remember.

A group of ledyba and hoppip flew over your head as you walked through the outskirts of the heavily familiar place.

Sentret and wooper playing around, sudowoodo acting like actual trees and politoed splashing water everywhere while you walked over a bridge.

'I wonder what Ash, Brock and Misty did when they were in Johto. They probably had a lot of fun! I wish I was there too, but whatever! Atleast I was having fun in Hoenn too!'

"When will you stop mumbling to yourself?" Arlo's voice caught you off guard.
"Oh- you're here too right? Sorry i forgot" you giggled apologetically.
Arlo deadpanned, "you cant be serious!"
"I told you, im sorry! I was busy thinking about- about the race!"
"Yeah yeah" he rolled his eyes and began to follow you again, "how long will it take us to get there?"
"Uhhh its nine thirty now....expect us to be there in two hours"
"TWO HOURS?!" Arlo gasped, "Y/N! You have to bring her out!"
"Her? Now way! I'm saving her for the race!" You protested, that's when Spearow, who was flying above and playing around in the air got down, and sat on your head, "i wasn't talking about you, buddy" "rowww"
"Y/N please! It's not like Pidgeot, will get injured! She's literally the fastest out there, c'mon!"

Groaning, you finally give in and bring out your partner for the race out, who you wanted to keep a secret to the others, but guess that's not happening now.

It ended up taking thirty minutes, rather than two goddamn hours.

You managed to spot your parents near a landmark and shouted, "woohoo! mom and dad! over here!"

your parents looked up and gasped, "PIDGEOT?!" they asked, surprised to see her, not knowing she's the one you chose for the race.
"Did she choose Pidgeot for the race?" they asked Oak, who knew your choice since the beginning.
"guess the surprise is out" he laughed.

you landed within a moment and jumped down to hug your parents, "Mommm, Dadddd, i missed youu" you said

"aww, we missed you too!" they said, "we last saw you before you left for Sinnoh, you grew up so muchh" your mom hugged you tightly
"mom- i can't breathe!!" you shouted, and she let you go with a laugh.

There was a HUGE festival going on outside the track, where the natives were having fun.

"Woah! This place looks so awesome!" Arlo marvelled, walking into the festival grounds with you behind.
"I know right! Can we go around and buy some things from the stalls?" You asked your parents who nodded with a smile.
"Alright thanks!" You grinned and separated from the others, checking the stalls alone, while Arlo went to stalls of his own liking.
