4 - A Daring Escape (Thor: The Dark World)

Back on earth, lan was watching the news, while Darcy was trying to avoid having a meltdown while she used her phone.

Darcy: Jane isn't calling me back, Erik
isn't calling me back, stupid S.H.I.E.LD. isn't calling me back.

Coco: Are they even important enough for SHIELD to bother with?

Winter: The two of them? Not likely, but S.H.I.ELD must know she is connected to Jane, who is most certainly on SHIELD's list of people of importance, both for her research and for being someone Thor deeply cares about.

Blake: So, maybe they only accept the calls from Jane, not her interns.

Ren: That would be rather foolish of them, for reasons exactly like this, where they need to reach S.H.I.E.LD, but Jane isn't available.

Velvet: Perhaps the Convergence is causing too many incidents like the one Jane discovered, so S.H.I.E.LD is investigating and too busy to answer them?

Ironwood: With how many people the organization has? Highly unlikely.

Yang: *smirks* Unless they're too busy playing Galaga again. *audience chuckles*

Ian: What's SHIELD?  

Darcy: It's a secret. *on phone* Hey, Erik, it's Darcy again. Uh, Thor came back, he took Jane to Asgard and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.

Just as she hit the end button of the call, the newscaster on TV switched to a new story. 

Reporter: Something else went missing this week, when astrophysicist Dr. Erik Selvig, notable for his involvement in the alien invasion of New York streaked nude across... 

As the reporter well,... reports the story, the TV showed Erik running around naked.

Ruby: *covers eyes* Oh, Gods! Why did we have to see that!? 

Yes, nothing explicit was shown, but seeing an old man with that little clothing was still HIGHLY disturbing.

Penny seemed to freeze for a moment at this. 

Penny: Erasing from memory banks. 

Cinder: I have never been more jealous of a robot in my entire life. 

Weiss: In case you have forgotten, Cinder, she is an android. With a human soul, I might add.

Ian: Darcy, you really need to look at this. Y-your friend Erik... What was his last name again?

The woman in question sighed when she saw the screen, gazing at the image of her friend dejectedly as the anchor continued.

Reporter: Disrobed and began shouting at visitors to the historic site. He was later taken to police custody for psychiatric evaluation. Police are still refusing to confirm-

The screen was then paused on a close-up of the astrophysicist, a manic look in his eyes, while the 2 interns sat on the couch, cringing at the man's fate and what that meant for them.

Qrow: *shrugs* Well, they're screwed. 

Emerald: Why are we even paying attention to these guys? I mean, you CAN'T tell me anyone was like 'Hey, forget the god of thunder and the girl with evil dark magic inside her, let's go back to the interns!' Can we get back to the important stuff, please? 

Ozpin: It's likely to lower the tension and lighten the mood, It's certainly needed after the death of Thor's mother and the threat of war. 

Neo: And don't forget about padding. The longer a movie is, the longer they can keep you in the theater so you'll have to buy more popcorn and soda to make sure you're seated during the movie. Dum-Dum taught me to spot a scheme when I see one and that's definitely one of them.
