TW-MENTIONS OF BLOOD
Olivia's pov-
It has been 2 days since my mum's got here, everyone has stopped fangirling and nat said they can stay here with us, today we play Hungary in the group, we play everyone once and top 2 teams from every group go through. I havent eaten these last two days but shh no one knows that, ive avoided meal times with a shower or something like that because i know my mum's will catch on. Today is an early game kick off at half 10.
I get up and get dressed as natalie told us to get our kit on here because were going straight there and theres no changing rooms because its not a proper stadium, thats a joke we cant even play in proper stadiums but here we are. We get on the coach at 9.45. We get there at 10 half an hour until kick off. I cant tell if my mum's not noticing i haven't been eating is bad or good, anyway oh well, ive been fine in training ill be fine here. I go out and warm up, i feel really weird but of course i dont say anything. We go into a little huddle after our 25 minute warm up.
Nat-"same starting 11 as before except, mia is your hammy still playing up" she nods "so same starting 11 as the second half on last game so charli in for mia and olivia you. are. captain" she says hitting me on the shoulder with the armband "everyone round of a plause please, for our captain, OLIVIA!" Everyone claps including mia who i didnt think would, she then walks over to me.
Mia-"go get em kid" she taps me on the shoulder and comes to my ear "its not playing up, but you deserve to lead this team out so go get em"
I look at her in complete shock
Mia-"go before you miss it" she says with a laugh
Olivia-"wait mia" she turns around and i pull her into a hug all by myself "thank you"
Mia-"you deserve it"
I let her go repeating "thank you" to her
Natalie-"you ready liv, teams waiting captain"
Olivia-"as ill ever be"
I walk to wear the teams are lined up, in this little building bit, my mum's are stood around as theres no seats, i dont look at them as i already know there gonna be crying. And then i hear the fans my mum's were on about from the plane, chanting my name, it is true people do like me.
I take a deep breath and start walking.
Mia-"go get em girls!"
I smile as shes give me this opportunity.
Mia-"youve got this Olivia!"
The ref opens the doors and we walk onto the pitch.
Teyah holds my shoulders and gives them a squeeze.
I line them up and we shake hands with the Hungary players, we walk past the refs, shaking hands and go into our huddle.
Olivia-"right girls uh dont know what to say, keep pressing like we do, keep joint as a team, we win as a team, lose as a team, who are we?!"
All-"ENGLAND!"
Olivia-"WHO ARE WE!"
All-"ENGLAND!"
I clap and jog out of the huddle up front, we have kick off.
Olivia-"come on girls!" I say clapping my hands and kicking the game off. We start in control, keeping possession well, i havent looked at my mum's yet but i did see a quick glance of them both crying, it made me smile to see how happy they were for me, they mean the world to me.
I score 10 minutes in.
Ivy-"yess"
Mia-"yesss olivia get innn"
Lucy-"yessss!!" I hear the happiness in her voice.
I send a love heart to them and they send me one back.
Ivy scores 16 minutes. 2-0 England
Olivia-"well done ivy!"
We score 2 more going into halftime 4-0 up.
Natalie-"well done girls brilliant performance, keep playing like that, weve got this in the bag"
We go back out for the second half, im still captain. Millie scores almost straight away. 5-0.
65 minutes, the ball is cleared away from our box by Isabella, i have my eyes on the ball not seeing the hungary player in front of me. I jump up for the ball and thats when i feel it, an elbow to the head, and also nails to my eyebrow. I drop to the floor clutching my head, i move my hand and see blood, a lot of it, i roll over onto my back to show the ref. She blows her whistle and the medics run over. I keep my hand there covering the blood, theres blood everywhere, all over my top, all over my head, my hands.
Player-"im sorry i didnt mean to hit you" i put my clean hand out and she grabs it and shakes it."im sorry" she says and walks away. The medics, slowly pull me up but i soon drop to the floor seeing pure black. You know when i said id be fine? Yeah i wasnt. I passed out. I feel strong arms pick me up but i dont move, unable to wake up. 10 minutes later my eyes flutter open and im in a hospital bed, i try and get myself off it, i hate hospitals, last time i was in one i tried to end my life, that is the only reason i have been to hospital.
Lucy-"woah woah woah lie down, shshsh"
She holds me down
Olivia-"w..w..what happened"
Lucy-"you-"
Doctor-"why dont you tell us that"
Olivia-"ok i uh, i remember going up to header the ball getting headbutted, blood everywhere, uh and then i went to get up and it all went black and i felt strong arms, really strong arms pick me up and now i..i..im here and i really dont want to be" finishing my sentence feeling very agitated
Lucy-"that was me"
Olivia-"of course it was"
Doctor-"well actually, your head injury isnt as bad as we thought its actually uhm, olivia whens the last time you ate" i look down and fiddle with my fingers.
Luvy-"answer him now."
Olivia-"3 days ago"
Keira-"told you lucy"
Doctor-"thats what caused you to pass out mainly, and of course the loss of blood didnt help"
Keira-"olivia baba, why"
Olivia-"i didnt want to"
Mum grabs my hand
Lucy-"babygirl we need to eat"
Olivia-"i know, i know, im sorry"
Lucy-"come here"
She carefully holds my head and cuddles me, mama holds my hand
Olivia-"can we get a photo"
Lucy-"of course doctor can you take it please"
Doctor-"course" he takes it
Olivia-"when can i go"
Doctor-"not a fan of hospitals eh?"
I shake my head, bringing back horrible memories
Doctor-"today, few hours"
Olivia-"thanks"
A few hours pass and im discharged
Lucy-"right young lady, we will definitely be making sure you eat now"
Olivia-"im sorry mum"
Lucy-"its okay, hows your head"
Olivia-"hurts"
Keira-"awe baba youve got a black eye"
Olivia-"yeah i probably do im so tired"
Lucy-"lets get back to the room"
We go back and i quickly post the photo of instagram.

I lock my phone and go to sleep, my head really hurting.
Olivia-"mum, or mama can i have a cuddle" they both cuddle me
Keira-"of course"
I close my eyes again and go to sleep.
