GREENE FARM 📍tw: mentions & talks of suicide
season 2, episode 10
(part 2)Lori had come down the stairs after giving Beth her food, Maggie, Lori and I then all spoke about random things to get our minds off of certain things. A few minutes of us all discussing had passed when I decided to go check on Beth to see how she was doing with her meal.
"Damn, couldn't eat a thing?" I spoke playfully, I went to say something else but halted once I heard a soft crying from the room. I slowly leaned into the room to see Beth softly crying, sitting up in her bed but staring outside the window.
I take slow cautious steps into the room, I crouch onto the floor without any worry of pulling any stitches— thankfully I removed my stitches yesterday morning. I no longer had to take it easy, sadly in a world like this there wasn't any time to "take it easy".
"Beth..." I sighed, she glanced at me for a second before turning her gaze back out the window, "I know how hard it is, believe me. When I went back to Atlanta and saw my parents like that... it was awful. I know how you feel." I told the girl softly, I placed my hand on her hand to offer her comfort.
"It's just so pointless." Beth cried, I removed my hand and frowned. I stood to my feet and sat on the bed bedside Beth.
As I heard her words I couldn't help but think that a year ago when Myles had died, I was in the same position she was in. I was in bed for weeks, not going to work, not eating, not answering my phone calls, all I could do was sit in bed and mourn over my dead brother.
"I know it can feel like that. But you have Maggie, Jimmy, Me, Hershel and Patricia. And you gotta try to stay strong for us," Beth closed her eyes tightly as more tears fell, I placed my hand on Beth's and squeezed it in acknowledgment yet also comfort.
"I can't promise you that it'll be okay in the end, because... I don't know that it will be," I shook my head, my eyes struck with tears. "But we can make now all right, we've got to," I concluded. Beth slowly turned towards me and nodded her head with a grateful smile.
"Thank you, Nola." She whispered. I smiled knowingly, patting her knee but I paused once I felt a metal object hidden underneath the blanket.
My eyes snap towards the tray to notice that the knife I had seen Lori add to it was missing, my wide eyes bounce back towards Beth to see a guilty expression.
