[EDITING]
you took a polaroid of us,
then discovered,
the rest of the world was black and white,
but we were in screaming color,
and I remember thinking
are we out of the woods yet?

season 5, episode 7
The following day we were surprised to see Daryl found his way back home, Carol not in sight, but a random kid. When Daryl had told me that Carol had gotten in trouble and was taken to Atlanta I nearly fell over, but what did cause me to really fall over was the fact that Beth was alive.
Noah, the kid that Carol and Daryl found had told us about this functioning hospital, how they find you injured and force you to work. The kid had told me how Beth was, saying the two of them tried to escape but it was only him who could make it out.
Both Daryl and Noah had explained that Carol was in trouble as well, unfortunately, hit by a car and was taken to the hospital. I knew we had to go save them, they were my family.
And the sooner we saved them, the sooner we could get to D.C. and find Maggie.
We were all outside, taking apart the church and making the building more protective. Currently, I was trying to nail slabs of wood onto the windows. Rick stood right by my side, his hand on my lower back as he helped me reach.
"He wants to go to Atlanta, but I can't have that," Rick sighed, his eyes searching the side of my face as I worked.
I shot him a glance, my brows quirking. "Well then don't go. I can go and handle it. Get Beth and Carol, then head to D.C.," I explained with a grunt, using all my strength to hammer the wood into the wall.
"I owe it to Carol," he sighed, shaking his head.
My body softened at the tone of his voice, and my actions coming to a halt. "We all owe it to Carol, Rick."
"I owe her more," Rick whispered, his eyes trailing down my face.
Smoothly, with a dazzling grin on my face, I leaned in, pushing my lips against Rick's passionately. His hand on my back slowly slid to grip my side, his other hand moving to cup my cheek.
Pulling away slightly, I rested my forehead against his. "Do you want me to stay or do you want me to go?" I asked softly, my eyes searching his ocean blues.
Rick didn't say anything, just looking in my eyes as he thought to himself. "It's your choice. You can rest today, take care of Judith. Or you can come to Atlanta,"
Even though Rick had said the choice was up to me, I couldn't help but sense nervousness behind his eyes, almost begging me not to join. I knew I had been giving him a hard time lately, constantly on his ass for not letting me do what I want.
But I knew I couldn't just go out and put myself in danger as well– yesterday was a tough day, and it took a toll on me. I at least owed it to Rick to rest today, he would get Carol and Beth, and bring them back.
