Sanem was happy when she saw her stepfather laying on the couch drunk out of his mind and sleeping, she felt safe because he couldn't get up to yell at her and hit her, and ask her were she was. Sanem decided to right in her journal, about the day's events.

Sanem being a dreamer wondered what it would be like to be boyfriend and girlfriend with a man like that, who seemed strong, and smart and sweet. " but who am I kidding a man like that with a girl from the Mahalle, highy doubtful. I'm sure he has a beautiful rich girl friend somewhere. as she lay back down in bed she would dream of him, she would try to picture herself with him, holding hands walking together on the beach, just being romantic together. At least her dreams kept her going. Maybe on day my dreams will come true, one can only hope and pray, but who I'm I kidding, how will I ever get out of here. Sanem had tears coming down her cheeks, she takes a deep breath and says "one day Sanem Aydin your dreams will come true."
