WEDNESDAY

"you know what this means right?" Lia asked excited

"enlighten me" I played along

"we can now go on triple dates"

"I'd rather not" Liam spoke up from beside me

"I know you might not be Ares's biggest fan but he's a nice guy" Lia said in his defence

"I have no problem with Ares, I just don't wanna listen to your yapping"

"you'd die of boredom without it"

"more like it would extend my lifespan"

Like every other time she simply rolled her eyes at him

We continued walking down the school hallway in silence

Lia's sudden smile didn't go by unnoticed and all of a sudden, she grabbed Liam's arm and pulled them away from me

It didn't take long for me to realise what was going on once I heard Ares's voice

"hi Olivia"

I looked before me, Ares dressed in blue dad jeans and a white T-shirt standing in front of me

A gentle smile was painted on his face as he was waiting for my respond

"hey"

"so how does this work now?" he then asked

"hm?"

"do I get to hold your hand while we walk down the hallway?"

"no"

A disappointed look fell down on his face and I almost broke character

I stepped closer to him and took his hand in mine, interlocking our fingers in the process

"I get to hold yours" I simply said before I started walking again

"you can't be playing with my emotions already, we've been together only for a day now" he joked

"you're right, I guess we're not that serious yet so there's no need for us to be holding hands is there?"

I wanted to part my hand from his but he didn't let me

"let go Ares" I chuckled at my own desperate attempts

"of you? never" he smiled back

"you kind of have to because we're already at our classroom" I pointed out

"so what? we're academic rivals inside the class and lovers outside of it?" he asked

"exactly"

"you're seriously continuing with the whole rivalry thing?"

"yeah I am and we have an important exam coming up so you better start studying" I said as I successfully let go of his hand

"you know I don't have to"

"I hate you sometimes" I said unimpressed as I walked into the classroom

I took a seat in the front row, Ares sitting down at the desk right next to mine

"I assume you'll need tutoring for the upcoming exam?" he asked as soon as he sat down

"yeah it's our final math exam, I need to get those 100%"

"we can study at my place tomorrow if you want"

"sure but that means we need to train on friday because of your match on saturday"
