TUESDAY

"you cheated?!" I hissed at him in disbelief

The fact that he couldn't even make eye contact with me told me enough

I let out a scoff, trying to hold back my tears

"why?" I simply asked

"I'm sorry"

"I don't care, I'm asking you why. Was I not enough for you? YOU wanted to start this whole thing, not me but yet you go and cheat on me, why?"

"I didn't mean for it to happen, I was going home from the gym and I just felt like having a drink so I went to a nearby bar. I didn't think I would get so drunk and then some girl approached and one thing lead to another and I just-

I stopped him mid sentence

"I can't believe you would actually do something like this to me. I thought you loved me" I said quietly, my voice breaking more with each word

"I'm so sorry, I swear it won't ever happen again and I'll do everything to gain back your trust. Please, just give me another chance"

"I don't think that I can"

"so this is it? this is the end of our story? just like that?!"

Anger was filling his eyes like I was the one betraying him

"how dare you act like that when it's entirely your fault" I slightly yelled

"at least I'm trying to find a way to make it work again"

"well I don't want to 'make it work again'". It's done, we're done, I've had enough"

As much as it hurt inside, knowing that he cheated on me made me realise that I'm simply not enough for him

Even though we were at my house, I didn't feel the need to stay

I grabbed my bag and headed to the front doors

He went after me, gently grabbing my arm to stop me in my track and make me turn back to him

"what?" I asked on the verge of my tears

"don't give up on us" he pleaded

"I already did" I told him as I snatched my arm away from his grip and opened the doors

I shut them closed after I left, my tears escaping from my eyes the moment those doors closed

"Olivia" I heard someone yell

I looked up from my book to see that Ares entered the gym

"what are you reading?" he asked after noticing the book in my hands

"broken pieces" I said

"is it any good?"

"they're a little toxic, he already cheated on her for the second time"
