Cancelled flight

(your pov)

When your flight gets cancelled by an unexpected snowstorm that sends the blasted airport into shut down, you'd be rather irritated wouldn't you? And inclined to start cursing out the shitty meteorologists who can't do their freaking jobs.

I made my way to one of the free airport lounges grumbling to myself about my own bad luck. There's already at least thirty people already seated in various degrees of annoyance, ranging from about to punch someone to about to fall asleep. I find an armchair in the corner and set my things down, grabbing my handbag and some money.

I leave some unimportant math papers on the chair before grabbing the rest of my bag and going to the nearest vending machine to buy myself a drink. I punch the numbers into the machine and insert some money.

Bzzzzzzzzttttt...

The vending machine makes a strange sound before it falls silent. I wait a couple seconds to see if my drink will come out or not, tapping my foot against the linolium floor.

Tap

Tap.

Nothing.

The machine ate my money! I groan and kick the machine before turning on my heel to head back to my chair and math papers. Wouldn't want Ms. Futa's homework to go to waste.

When I get back to the seat I find a boy sitting in the seat right nect to it. A rather handsome boy I might add.

"Oh, hello." He said, looking up as I sat down.

"Hello." I say, fixing my hair slightly. "Damn snowstorm right?"

The boy laughs, it's so cute. "Yeah, ruined all my plans."

"Me too. I was supposed to be flying back to Tokyo right now." I roll my eyes.

"You live in Tokyo?" He asks.

"Yep, born there, lived there my whole life." I nodded. "You?"

"Tokyo too. I moved there when I started junior high." He blinked.

"Really? What junior high was it?" I asked.

"Mori High School." He said.

"Oh really? I remember my school played against them at interhighs." I mused, before realising he probably had no idea what I meant. "U-uh I mean, for volleyball."

"Oh? You play volleyball?" He asked, leaning in. "I do too!"

"Hold on really?" I shot up in my seat. "What position?"

"Setter. And you?"

"I'm an outside!"

"It would be so fun if we had a volleyball right now..."

"Where would we play?"

We went back and forth for a while, excited over new found connection. He was surprisingly easy to talk to and I felt my bad mood clear up immediately.

"Hold on. I just realised you never told me your name!" I pause in my previous sentence.

"You didn't either!" He pointed out.

"Um...You never asked?" I shrug sheepishly.

"Anyways it's Akaashi Keiji. Just Keiji is fine though." He laughed.

"Well I'm L/n Y/n. So just call me Y/ n!" I grin.

"Well Y/n, why don't we go get somethjng to drink?" He asks, standing up.

"Hell yeah! Not the vending machine though, it stole my money." I cheer, standing up and following him.

"Oh? How'd that happen?" He asks.

"I put in my money and it didn't give me my drink." I say sinply, flipping off the vending machine as we walk past it.

"Let's just go to one of the cafes then." He says.

"Okayy!"
