"Soooooo, there's this guy."

"WHAT?" My best friend, Mitsuki sits up straight, head shooting up from the table.

"Mitsu!" I shush her as I finish tying the twine on a new bouquet, glancing at the one customer in the store, a sweet old lady looking at some red carnations.

"Okay hold on. You like a guy?" She stares at me. "You haven't been interested in a guy since high school!"

"Yeah and in high school I was a lot more open to...new people." I roll my eyes.

"Yeah yeah whatever." She waves her hand dismissively. "What's his name? What does he look like? Do you have his number?"

"See that's the thing..." I sigh, running a hand through my hair. "His name is Akaashi, and he's pretty damn hot. No number though."

"So you want me to help you get his number." Mitsuki says slowly.

"Kind of...?" I say sheepishly. "Anyways can you help me talk to him at least?"

"Have you not talked to him?" She asks.

"No I have! It's just I'm scared to." I sigh again. "But he's really nice and funny, so."

"Yeah, I can make it work." She says thoughtfully. "Do you know where he is, normally?"

"He's usually in the cafe across the street." I point to the window. "See that guy at the window table? Drinking from his mug?"

"Yeah I see him." Mitsuki nods, standing up. "Leave it to me."

"Thank youuuu."

"Borrow this bouquet?" Mitsuki snatches my newly finished bouquet of roses from the table.

"Hey! I was going to put that on display!"

"Sorry!"

I was preparing an arrangement of pink lilies and tulips when a bouquet of roses was placed on my counter fifteen minutes later. I look up to see who it was, only to find the handsome guy I'd told Mitsuki about staring down at me, a soft smile on his lips.

"Um. Sorry- Can I help you?" I stumble through my words, startled.

"Ah hello. I wanted to give you this?" He smiled wryly. "Also I think you're really cute and funny and I'd like to get to know you more."

He said the words quickly, like if he said them fast it would prevent a rejection? I noticed his ears turning pink and chuckled.

How adorable...

"Did Mitsu do this?" I mumble, smiling while taking the flowers. "Thank you, a-and I think you're really nice and cute too."

"Great." A big grin broke out across his face and I paused a second to admire it.

It was like he lit up, his eyes crinkled around the edges, it was adorable.

"At least it was returned..." I sigh, sniffing the nonexistent scent of the roses, because roses never smell like anything, oddly. "Roses sell well around this time of year. And their a pain to grow too."

"Are these from your shop?" He blinked, glancing around.

"Yeah. Mitsuki gave it to you right? She stole it from me this morning." I smile fondly and the thought of my best friend, waltzing off with the freshly made bouquet that I was supposed to put on display. "I already put a different arrangement in the window..."

"Ah sorry. I didn't know." He said apologetically. "I would have just bought one if I'd known."

"Buy one from here?" I ask, a little teasingly, I'll admit.

"Would you like me to?" He asks, smiling.

"I mean, I'm not foolish enough to say no to a free and easy sale, but you don't have to." I wave a hand. "My business can take the hit."

"What's the most expensive bouquet you have in here?" He asks without even skipping a beat.

"Um...that would probably be the...peonies oh and that really big bouquet of tulips I did on Monday." I scrunch up my nose, thinking. "Also the gardenias, but you'd have to buy the whole plant... Wait. Where are you going with this?"

"I'll take the tulips please." Akaashi grinned, seeming to be pleased with himself.

"What? No! It's okay." I blink in surprise. "You don't have to!"

"I want to though...?" He gave me a curious look.

"Buy a cheaper bouquet then." I say sternly. "I'm not letting you waste your money on that thing."

"Don't you wanna make the sale though?" He asked.

"Okay, I'll let you in on a secret, I'm saving that for this really pissy customer." I lean closer a tad, lowering my voice. "He comes here occaisonally and looks down on me and my flower babies. He also has a big mouth and said that his poor wife loves tulips. So I'm basically gonna scam him and sell him overpriced tulips because he doesn't know shit about flowers."

"Good plan." He nods. "Alright I'll buy a different bouquet then."

"Can you take those purple petunias home?" I ask hopefully, pointing at the beautiful flowers a few feet away. "They've been here for a while and no one seems to want to buy them. I feel bad for the poor little girlies."

"Yeah okay, I'll get those then." He smiles.

"Yay! Thank youuu."

"No problem."

Thanks Mitsu.
