The great battle

With little effort, they both managed to surface as the remains of the mountain plunged into the dark waters. They struggled to swim to the shore to enter the forest, the annihilators were reluctant to jump into the river, Liz doubted that the water could really stop them. They stopped for a few minutes to catch their breath and analyze the new direction the mission had taken.

"What now?" asked Jake, feeling his blood freeze with the cold of the water and the late autumn night as he touched dry land, Liz shook her hair, let herself fall on the river bank and closed her eyes waiting for the solution to the difficult riddle to come to her mind, her plan was to finish with Friedrich Holzmann, she had never imagined a confrontation with Anneliese. Again the heavenly voice answered her pleas.

"You know what you have to do," Amelie said, her hand pressed on the girl's shoulder.

"All this is ruined," Liz complained, shivering with cold.

"You're very wrong there" Amelie spoke to her as the rest of the world came crashing down in the forest "this is the chance to put an end to all this in the bud".

With Judith's dagger in hand, Liz knew her fate. The Holzmanns had merged with Anneliese, now she would have to destroy her for the good of the people and all the surrounding kingdoms. She tried to take a look into the past, making use of the gift Amelie had given her. The forest was infested with monsters, yet one particular spot emanated an evil energy far superior to all of them combined. Just at the points where the storm was accelerating and the fire was sweeping everything away. In her belt she had some of Kira's equipment, some knives with special coatings and an additional bottle of perfume, she didn't think this would be enough to face Anneliese, but it would help her against the beasts of the forest.

"Follow me!" ordered a determined Liz, reloading her gun and spraying the perfume on top of it, although it caused her slight dizziness, she was willing to bear the consequences. A helicopter had them in its sights, with that idea in mind, she advanced amidst the trees and the sinister misty fog in search of her true target, only one thing was missing to complete her strike against the sorceress. She picked up her radio transmitter without lingering for a second, the crunching of the earth, the roars and the explosions interfered with the audio, even so, she managed to communicate with Nick.

"Sharrow, the forest is falling apart," the officer sounded more upset, "Don't move from where you are, we already have a fix on you".

"Negative!" Liz answered "Anneliese is heading towards the villages of Bien and Gumprecht, we gotta find her before she finishes everything".

"Wait, how do you know..." Nick grumbled.

"Stop, this time you'll be the one to do what I say," she interrupted him, "don't let the fucking helicopter out of your sight, you'll find us easily with it. Tell your whole group to head to Bien and Gumprecht and vacate the places as soon as possible, we need only you and Kira, we don't want to risk more agents unnecessarily, maybe just a couple more hands would be good for us. over!"

So, they continued their course towards the center of the forest, the same driving force that guided Liz towards Mr. Holzmann and the statue of Anneliese transported her towards that place, a point where the fearsome presence remained static. All around her came every monster she had ever known, the footsteps of the rippers, the screeches of the annihilators, the roar of the bloodsucker and the viper hisses of the punishers. From the top of one of the trees, a bloodsucker caught them, roaring and spreading its deadly wings, it didn't take long to suffer the symptoms of poisoning by the perfume of flowers, it moved away while the agents aimed their guns at it, but it was the helicopter that riddled the monster with its machine guns.
