BLOODY BRIGHTON

Yesterday, a battle took place in the back streets of Brighton between the Death Eaters, and an up and coming resistance group who have claimed themselves to be 'The Order of the Phoenix'. It is reported that there were no less than ten fatalities, and over twenty injuries. It seems as though war may be on the horizon for the Wizarding World. Now, we all know that there are no good people in war, so there is no inherently "good" side, however, it is yet to be decided which side is the strongest, but one must hope that this new resistance group is the strongest side, because who knows what will become of the world we know and love if the other side wins.

I stare blankly at the Daily Prophet, all I'm able to think about is the fact that the report claims there were no less than ten fatalities.
My parents were there.
I can feel the panic surging through me.
I begin to bounce my legs and try and level my breathing. I woke up relatively early and was too hungry to wait for Sirius and Remus, and I now regret that decision, because now I'm panicking and there's no one here to ground me.
"Mr Potter" Professor McGonnogall pulls me out of my thoughts, which then pulls me out of my panic, which I'm actually grateful for.
"Professor" I reply almost absent mindedly.
I see Professor McGonnogall's eyes slip down to the Daily Prophet that I had discarded on the table and her lips purse "I see you've already read the Prophet" McGonnogall comments
"Oh no, are you here to tell me something happened to my parents?" I ask, panic consuming me all over again. I start to breathe heavily. Professor McGonnogall places a hand on my shoulder
"James, it's okay, I came to assure you that your parents are fine, your Mother took one or two stunners and your Father has a few nasty cuts and bruises but otherwise they are alive and well" Professor McGonnogall explains softly. I nod as I try to regulate my breathing once more. "I did also come over here to ask if you knew where Mr Black was?" Asks Professor McGonnogall
"Sirius is still asleep I think, why? Did something happen to his parents?" I ask
"No, his parents are fine, but Regulus is in the hospital wing" Professor McGonnogall replies "would you go and get Mr Black for me so I can take him to the hospital wing to visit his brother" Mcgonnogall continues.
"Regulus? Regulus was there?" I ask
For some stupid reason, it didn't even cross my mind that Regulus would even be there, that he was in harms way. I didn't even think about him. I feel guilt and worry surge through my system, making me feel sick.
"He was, he'll be okay, he was blasted back, got a concussion and a fractured arm that Madam Pomfrey has fixed up with no issues, however, I do think Mr Black would like to know his brother is safe and well so could you please go and wake him for me?" Professor McGonnogall replies.
I nod and stand up, stumbling slightly.
"Are you quite alright, Mr Potter?" Asks Professor McGonnogall
"Of course, Professor, I-I'll go and get Sirius now" I reply shakily before turning and leaving the Great Hall to all but run to Gryffindor Tower.
When I get to the common room I'm glad to see Sirius and Remus coming down the stairs.
"Sirius, there you are" I say breathlessly
"Merlin, Prongs, what's up with you? Did you run here or something?" Asks Sirius
"Actually yes, why? Are you doubting my athletic abilities?" I question, quirking a brow at him
"Never in my dizziest daydreams" Sirius replies with a grin "now, what in Merlin's name caused you to run here?" Asks Sirius
"Oh, right, you gotta come with me to the hospital wing" I reply
"Why?" Asks Sirius
"Regulus is there" I reply
The colour drains out of Sirius' face, and I watch as panic overtakes the confusion that once resided in his expression "Is he okay?" Asks Sirius
"He was blasted backward by a curse, he broke his arm but Madam Pomfrey mended that, he also has a concussion, he's a bit groggy, McGonnogall thought that you should be there when he wakes up, so he knows where he is" I reply
"McGonnogall told you?" Asks Sirius
"Yeah, she came to give me an update on my parents, then asked me where you were, I thought you were still asleep so she asked me to pass on the message" I reply
Sirius nods and runs a hand through his hair "Okay, so Reggie's okay?" Asks Sirius
"He's okay, it'd just be nice for him to have someone there" I reply
"Will you come with me?" Asks Sirius
"Of course I will" I reply
"Do you want me to come?" Asks Remus softly
"I'm sorry, baby, I think it should just be James and I on this one, three's a crowd, but I'll come back later" Sirius replies, kissing Remus on the cheek.
"That's okay, baby, I'll see you later" Remus says, kissing Sirius before Sirius turns and walks off with me.
The two of us head to the hospital wing together "Ah, Mr Black, thank you, Mr Potter for bringing him up for me" Professor McGonnogall says as she sees us come into view, she's standing in front of the two large oak wood doors that lead to the hospital wing.
"Anything for my favourite Professor" I reply with a grin. I can't help but notice the small smile that plays on her lips momentarily before she turns her head away with a shake as she opens the doors.
"Come with me, Mr Black" Professor McGonnogall says, gesturing through the door.
"Can James come too?" Asks Sirius
Professor McGonnogall nods, offering him a small smile "of course" Professor McGonnogall replies, which makes Sirius calm slightly, which I can see from the droop of his shoulders. We both walk into the hospital wing where McGonnogall leads us near to the back of the room to a bed where Regulus is laid in.
Sirius walks over to the bed, taking Regulus' hand in his. Regulus stirs and twitches slightly. "James?" Asks Regulus
"Reggie, it's me, Sirius" Sirius replies
"Where's James?" Asks Regulus
"I'm right here, Reg" I reply softly
"James, your parents, your Mum, I'm sorry" Regulus murmurs
"My parents are fine, Reg, it's you we should worry about" I reply
"No, your Dad, he almost died, I saved him, I had to stun your Mum, sh-she's nice" Regulus says breathlessly.
"Shh, Reg, it's okay, look, have some water and some rest, we can talk later" I say soothingly.
Sirius hands Regulus a cup of water with a straw in it "here, Reggie, drink" Sirius says, holding the straw to Regulus' lips. Regulus shifts so that he's sat upright and he sips his water slowly.
"James, I'm sorry" Regulus states
"What do you keep apologising for?" I ask
"In the battle, it was a surprise, to him anyway- the Dark Lord- he interrupted Cissy's wedding, I didn't want to be there, but I had to, I came across your Mum she...she told me to stun her, so-so I did. I hope she's okay sh-she's really nice. Your Dad, he-he was head to head with a Death Eater, he would have died I-I had to use the Imperius curse on a random person to get them to stand in his way so that he wouldn't die" Regulus explains almost frantically.
I quickly move to stand on the other side of him, I run my fingers through his hair and run my hand down his face, cupping his face in my hand.
"You have nothing to be sorry for, baby, okay? You did a good thing, a great thing, and I'm so so thankful that you did, you saved my parents when you didn't have to, and you have no idea how grateful I am for that" I say softly.
He sniffs and I wipe away the stray tear that escapes his eye "You're not mad at me?" Asks Regulus. I press a kiss to his temple and run my thumb back and forth over his cheek "No, no I'm not mad at you" I say softly into his hair, kissing the top of his head again to soothe him. He seems to visibly relax at this.
"How about I go get you some breakfast from the Great Hall while you sit with Sirius?" I ask and Regulus slowly nods.
I look over to Sirius who nods and smiles gratefully at me before I leave the hospital wing. I head down to the Great Hall where I find Remus sat with Lily, who I thought went home for Easter.
"Lily, what are you doing here?" I ask
"Nice to see you too" She replies with a smirk "If you must know, I got back last night, my parents kicked me out because Vernon was spending half of Easter with us and I kept trying to talk to them about the Order, and how things are getting dangerous, and that they might need to go into hiding, they weren't having any of it, so here I am" Lily continues
"Oh, Lils, I'm sorry" I say
"Ah, it's no biggie, it's more fun here anyway, especially with my gossip partner" Lily replies, gesturing to Remus who smiles at me.
"How's Regulus?" Asks Remus as I begin to put Jam on toast, no butter because I know that Regulus hates the texture of butter.
"He's alright, just groggy" I reply
"Good, I'm glad to hear it, is Sirius okay?" Asks Remus
"Yeah, Sirius is all good, he was a bit worried but I think that seeing that Regulus is okay has calmed him down. I'm just grabbing Regulus some breakfast before it ends, he should be out of the hospital wing by lunch time I expect" I reply
"Great, I'll wait for you guys in the Common Room then" Remus states with a smile, I nod, returning his smile.
"I'll catch you guys later" I say. I turn and take only a few steps before someone grabs my arm. That someone is Lily.
"Hey, if you need someone to keep your bed warm, I'm happy to provide" Lily whispers into my ear, giving my ear lobe a nibble and placing a kiss on my neck, the two small actions send a shiver down my spine and I smile reflexively.
"I- erm, I'll see about that one" I stutter. She smirks at me, tucking her bottom lip between her teeth which she knows does things to me. I wet my lips with my tongue but do nothing else about the urge I have to undress her and have her right here.
"Maybe I'll see you later then" Lily replies with a smile
"Yeah, maybe" I state.
I then turn and actually walk out of the Great Hall with no interruptions this time. I make it back to the hospital wing carrying two slices of jam toast and a blueberry muffin.
"Breakfast" I say as I walk over to Regulus' bed, handing him the napkin with the toast and the muffin.
"Thank you" Regulus says, taking the food from my hands gratefully. "No butter, you remembered? And my favourite muffin as well" Regulus says as he inspects his breakfast.
"Of course I remembered" I reply with a smile. Regulus smiles at me, brighter this time as he tucks into his jam on toast.
"Moony says he'll wait for us in the Common Room" I say to Sirius who nods
"Reg, mind if I leave you here with James?" Asks Sirius
"No, that's okay, go swoon over your boyfriend" Regulus replies
"No need to tell me twice" Sirius states with a grin before leaving the hospital wing.
"You can go too, if you want" Regulus says to me after swallowing his mouthful of toast
"No, baby, it's okay, I'll stick with you as long as you need" I reply with a smile.
He shifts up to make space on his bed and pats on the bed, gesturing for me to sit on it with him so I do. I sit next to him on his bed and cuddle up with him.

Hello there my lovelies!

So so sorry for my lack of update the past few days, I had some writers block, but the main reason is that I am so into crimson rivers rn guys I cannot lie to you, that fanfiction must be laced with crack because I Can. Not. Put. It. Down. I have read forty five chapters in like three weeks which is wild.
Anyway, onto my fic chapter that I have written. Okay so James panicking about his parents and not even thinking Regulus would be in danger is so sad, but he was reassured<3 also Regulus asking for James the moment he wakes up??? They're so in love I'm unwell.
