Jay pov
Kaylee was already running late for school and we weren't leaving any time soon. It was now 9am
Jay: Kaylee come on kiddo seriously
Hailey walked in
Hailey: she still not ready?
Jay: nope. Imma go check on her
I went upstairs and knocked on her door
Jay: Kaylee
Kaylee: fuck off
I could hear crashing about so I walked into her room and just held her
Jay: calm down
She just broke down crying.
Jay: what's going on kiddo?
Kaylee: I just feel so fucking overwhelmed all the time
We sat on her bed. She was picking at the skin on her fingers making them bleed. I held her hands
Jay: I think that maybe we should talk to Dr Charles
She just shrugged.
Jay: I'll see if I can get you an appointment okay
Kaylee: no school?
Jay: we'll see. Get dressed and come downstairs
I went downstairs and called Daniel

Daniel: what can I help you with Jay?
Jay: I'm worried about Kaylee
Daniel: what's going on?
Jay: I don't know. Lately she's been really struggling. She's always overwhelmed and she's lashing out all the time. She has no control over her emotions. She's just really struggling and I don't know how to help her.
Daniel: bring her in for 10 and I'll talk to her
Jay: thanks Daniel. Appreciate it

Hailey: sorted?
Jay: yeah we gotta get to med for 10
I went back up to Kaylees room. I knocked on the door
Kaylee: go away
I walked into and she was sat on the floor with her head in her hands.
Jay: we're going to med. I got you an appointment with Daniel
Kaylee: can you come in with me?
Jay: if that's what you want
Kaylee: I don't want to talk to him on my own
Jay: then I'll be there with you. Get ready and get your stuff ready for school

Jay: okay bring your lanyard then
She passed it to me.
Jay: right 10 minutes then we're going
She went over to her wardrobe and got out some sweatpants and hoodie
Jay: that from Kelly?
Kaylee: yeah I took it and forgot to give it back to you
She tried to shut the door but it wouldn't close. She kept slamming it getting frustrated
Jay: peach calm down. There's a bag in the way
I moved it and then shut it
Jay: right ready then downstairs
I went back down
Hailey: she alright?
Jay: I don't even know anymore
After like 5 minutes Kaylee came downstairs
Jay: you ready?
Kaylee: what does it look like?
Jay: take your meds
I threw the bottle to her and she took them
Jay: get in the car
Kaylee: you get in the car
Jay: That's enough. Get. In. The. Car
She stormed out the house slamming the door. I gave hailey a kiss
Jay: I'll see you later

I got in the car and drove to med. we made our way up to Daniel's office and walked into.
Daniel: hey guys
Jay: hey thanks for seeing us so soon
Daniel: no problem. So Kaylee what's been going on?
She just shrugged her shoulders
Daniel: your dad tells me that you're struggling a little
Kaylee: and?
Jay: oi that's enough
Daniel: how's school?
Kaylee: shit I hate it
Daniel: what about school don't you like?
Kaylee: everything
Daniel: anything in particular?
She shrugged again
Daniel: I can't help if you don't talk
Kaylee got up and was walking around in circles
Kaylee: everything just feels harder than it should be. I can't focus unless it interests me but if it does then sometimes that's all I can focus on. I get angry quickly and I ash out at anyone and everyone.
Daniel: you have difficulty sitting still? Always on the go? Forgetful? Always fidgeting? Act without thinking? Little or no sense of danger
He just described Kaylee to a tee
Jay: yep 100%
Kaylee: how'd you know?
Daniel: well I believe this could be ADHD
Kaylee: like dad?
Jay: mhm
Kaylee: I guess I really am my fathers daughter
Jay: I think there could be something else as well. The anger and the defiance that can't just be ADHD.
Daniel: well I can't make a definitive diagnosis just yet I'll need a report from the school. Hopefully you'll get the answers you need. Until then I'm more than happy to speak to Kaylee on a regular basis. If that's something you'll want to do?
Jay: that will be good
Daniel: I'll get in touch with the school
Jay: thanks Daniel

We walked out of the office and bumped into Connor
Connor: hey trouble
Kaylee: hi
Connor: what you doing here?
Kaylee: saw Daniel
Connor: you okay?
She just shrugged and walked off.
Connor: she good?
Jay: she's been struggling lately and she had some sort of breakdown this morning because she was feeling overwhelmed. Daniel thinks it adhd but can't diagnose without a report from the school.
Connor: at least you've got an answer
Jay: yeah I guess so. Movie night at the weekend?
Connor: yeah sure
Jay: I should probably go find her I'll see you later
Connor: see ya
I went out to the car park and Kaylee was stood at the car. We got in and I started driving
Kaylee: can we get milkshakes?
Jay: sure
We got our milkshakes and went home.

Hailey: how'd it go?
Kaylee: fine. Am I going to school?
Hailey: what'd you wanna do kiddo?
Kaylee: I wanna stay home
Hailey: then you can stay home
Jay: i want you to at least do some reading with me
Kaylee: No
Jay: it's either that or go to school
Kaylee: you're so unfair

Jay: right let's get the reading done now and get it out the way

Jay: just a couple pages of whatever book you have to read for school.
Kaylee: fuck off
Jay: right that's enough. Why can't you just do what you're fucking told instead of acting like a spoiled brat. It's either 10 minutes of reading or school

She stormed off upstairs and slammed the door. I just sat on the couch with my head in my hands and hailey sat beside me

Jay: I don't know what to do anymore. I can't do anything right with her

Jay: it's adhd but he can't diagnose until he gets a report from the school. I think it's more than that tho
