Mothers Day

Today was Mother's Day and dad had helped me get the perfect gift. I was gonna ask Hailey to adopt me.
Me and dad were in the kitchen making breakfast for Hailey.
Kaylee: I'm nervous
Dad: there's no need to be
Kaylee: what if she doesn't want to?
Dad: she loves you more than anything. Probably more than she loves me. You're overthinking everything.
I made Hailey some chocolate covered pickles. Pregnancy cravings are the weirdest thing in the world. How can someone crave the most revolting combinations?
Kaylee: I dare you to try one
Dad: not happening. This shit looks nasty
Kaylee: don't be a pussy
Dad: take a bite first
I took a bite and gave it to dad and he took a bite
Dad: why wasn't that bad?
Kaylee: hailey might be on to something
We finished making breakfast and I took it up to Hailey. I sat beside her in the bed and dad sat beside me so I was squashed in the middle
Dad: what we watching?
Kaylee: greys?
Hailey: of course
We watched a couple of episodes and I fell asleep.

Jay pov
Kaylee and Hailey had fallen asleep so I took Haileys tray and took it downstairs.
Hailey: Jay! Jay! Babe!
I ran upstairs and Kaylee was seizing. After about a minute it had slowed down. I rolled her onto her side
Hailey: she's been doing well. She's been seizure free for like a month
Jay: I know
Kaylee slowly came around
Kaylee: I'm sorry
Hailey: there's no reason to be sorry
Kaylee: it's supposed to be your day
Hailey: it's not even midday
Jay: come on let's get you some breakfast
Me and Kaylee went downstairs and she sat at the island
Jay: what do you fancy?
Kaylee: bacon and eggs
I made us some breakfast and we sat down to eat. I gave Kaylee her meds. Kaylee was just silently eating.
Jay: whats on your mind kiddo?
Kaylee: nothing
Jay: I know when you need to talk so what's up?
Kaylee: what if she leaves us?
Jay: what?
Kaylee: what if hailey leaves us? Like Monica
Jay: she won't leave. She's been in our lives for nearly 10 years.
Kaylee: but what if asking her to adopt me scares her away?
Jay: I know for a fact that hailey has been waiting for this day. She wants this more than anything.
Kaylee: okay
We finished breakfast
Kaylee: I'm gonna have a shower
Jay: keep the door a little open
Kaylee: mhm
Kaylee went upstairs and I started tidying downstairs and put some laundry on. I set out haileys presents and headed back upstairs.
Hailey: your phones been going off
Jay: it's probably Will
I rang him back
Jay: hey
Will: hey man. We're going to lay flowers for mom and Mama
Jay: what time?
Will: like 12ish then we're gonna get lunch
Jay: alright that's cool
Call ended

Hailey: everything okay?
Jay: yeah they're gonna lay flowers for mom and mama then go out for lunch
Hailey: okay. Imma get in the shower. You wanna join?
Jay: I would love to but Kaylees in the shower
Hailey: suit yourself
She started teasing getting undressed in front of me before walking into the bathroom. I was sorting out my clothes when I heard a thud come from Kaylees room
Kaylee: I'm fine
Jay: be careful please
My phone started ringing and this time it was Hank
Jay: hi pops
Hank: you spoken to Will?
Jay: yeah we're getting ready now
Kaylee: Dad!
Jay: what's up?
Kaylee: can you do my hair?
Jay: pops I gotta go but I'll see you in a bit
Hank: alright kiddo

I went to Kaylees room and she was dressed in a tracksuit
Jay: what do you want?
Kaylee: 2 braids please
I sat down and started doing her hair
Jay: we're gonna go to lay flowers then have lunch
Kaylee: okay. I'm gonna FaceTime Zach
She went downstairs. I went back into my bedroom and Hailey was just getting out the shower. She was getting ready and was doing her hair. I went up behind her and hugged her with my hands on her stomach.
Jay: I love you ya know
Hailey: I love you too
I kissed her and then jumped in the shower. I showered then got dressed before heading downstairs. The time was now 11:30.
Jay: we all ready?
Hailey: yeah Kaylees just getting her crocs on
We heard a thud
Hailey: Kaylee you okay?
No answer
I walked into the living room and she had her AirPods in. I tapped her on the shoulder
Jay: you ready?
Kaylee: yeah coming now
We walked out to the car and I stopped at the shop before going to the cemetery. We pulled up and Will was already here.
Kaylee went over and hugged him
Jay: Kelly and Jax not coming
Will: Jax has had a bit of a rough morning but they'll be at lunch. How you been trouble?
Kaylee: okay I guess
Will just looked at me and I shook my head.
Will: dads on the way with Erin and Justin. Connor's starting with Daisy but they'll meet us at lunch as well
Everyone turned up. Kaylee ran up and gave him a hug.
Hank: how you doing kiddo?
She shrugged and walked off.
Will: what's up with trouble?
Jay: anxiety. We have something planned for Hailey and she's overthinking it.
Will: I'm gonna go to moms grave
Jay: I'll come with. you coming?
Hailey: yeah
We went to mom's grave. We laid the flowers down

Will: she was caring and funny
Jay: I remember she always had my back when I was getting into trouble
Will: Jay was the favourite child
Jay: how can anyone say no to this face?
We went to Camilla's grave and laid the flowers
Jay: happy Mother's Day mama
Kaylee: dad
Jay: what's up kiddo?
Kaylee: do you think we can invite everyone round?
Jay: ask Hailey
Kaylee ran off.

After about an hour we headed to a diner we always go to. Everyone met us there.
Daisy: uncle jay Jay
She ran up and hugged me and I picked her up. We found a table and sat down but Jax was playing up
Kelly: Jax sit down
Jax: no
Kelly: Jaxon now
Jax: no
Kelly: carry on and when we get home I'll throw all your toys in the bin
Jax: don't care
Jay: Jax get over here right now
He slowly walked over
Jay: why you not behaving?
He just shrugged his shoulders
Jay: right enough with this bad behaviour okay
Jax: okay
He sat down and we ordered our food.

Kaylee pov
I was sat next to dad and Freddie. I ordered a burger and fries. Freddie kept nicking my fries because he got banana pancakes.
Kaylee: Freddie fuck off. Get your own
Connor: Fred that's enough
We are then went home. Everyone came back with us and Hailey was opening her presents.
Hailey: aw kiddo I love them thank you so much
Kaylee: I have 1 more.
I gave her the present. She opened it and it was a box with photos of me, her and dad throughout the years
Kaylee: okay so when I was just a baby I didn't know what a real mom could be but you came into my life at the age of 6 and showed me what it was like to be loved  and cared for. Even through the years when I was a handful to deal with, no matter the situation you always had my back. Now that I'm older I realise you have been an amazing mother. I used to think about my bio mom and sometimes hoped she would come back but she could never step up for me the way you have and I need you to know that I love you and I'm grateful and lucky to have you in my life. You may not be my mom by blood but for you're my real mom no matter what.
I gave her another present which was the papers. She opened it and was reading
Kaylee: I guess what I want to ask is can we make it official? Will you adopt me mom?
She gave me a hug
Hailey: of course I will honey
Everyone started cheering
