Short Bio:

Kasey is a girl who is living on the streets and is a thief for a living. She got kicked out of her house at 17, and dropped out of high school after, ever since then, she'd taken care of herself. It's never said how many years pass since Kasey was kicked out so she's possibly still 17. Kasey is smug and sneaky, but deep down, Kasey is a nice and caring girl, but "nice and caring" wouldn't have helped her situation.

In the beginning of the second story of this book, Kasey robs a mother's wallet and her child's goody bag, and in it, there are some Ballora glasses that let you see Ballora. At first, Kasey thinks nothing of it and thinks it's just some glasses that let you see Ballora. But she finds out her friends can't even see her. She then realizes Ballora is actually there, but the glasses help her see where she is. Throughout the book, Ballora is invisible and she tries to get Kasey. Kasey tries to ignore it and thinks it's all in her head, and she keeps using the woman's credit card to buy things for her and her other friends she hangs out with. After days of torment, Kasey decides to leave town, so she leaves her friends behind and hops on a bus. She is unsure if she can LITERALLY run away from her problem, and she can't, Ballora follows her. At one point, Kasey starts dreaming she's in a theater, and Ballora is on stage acting like a clown. She doesn't speak but big "THEIF" words appear with Ballora making a shocked expression with her arms to her face. As the book goes on, Ballora keeps coming closer and closer to her. Kasey moves to a new town and gets a job as a waitress, but she continues to steal, and then decides to get a new job later. At one point, Kasey tries robbing a store so she can have a good outfit for a job interview, but when she tries leaving, she can tell Ballora is standing right outside and leaves form around something, even without the glasses. Kasey is stopped by the manager, but luckily an older woman offers to pay for the dress Kasey was going to steal. Then Kasey realizes what Ballora wants. So she tracks down the lady she stole from and gives her back her wallet, and gives her daughter back her goody bag. The woman is thankful as not many theifs would do this, and Kasey is ready to turn her life around.
