Short Bio:

Dirk works for the local newspaper and is seen as very nerdy. Dirk is a little stubborn, but arguably rightfully so as when he explains to his friends something he clearly remembers, he tries to prove that he didn't make it up. He didn't have a good childhood. He was always brought on trips with his parents for their magic shows, and was left with his aunt when they died, but then his aunt passed away too. Due to Felix the Shark being scrapped, Dirk is not a canon character.

Dirk appears in the first story. He and his friends are hanging out and they all start talking about Freddy's and their characters. Dirk brings up Felix the Shark and that he's been dreaming about him, and all his friends are confused on who Felix is. Dirk tries to remind him, but it sounds made up to him. Gordon makes fun of him, Jenny thinks he may remember wrong, Wyatt tries to support him but doesn't really believe him, and Leo thinks he's creative for making it up. Dirk gets angry and leaves them. He then becomes determined to go and look for Felix. He remembers it due to his parents taking him on magic shows on tour, so he ends up in the small town of Forktown. He asks the residents about Felix, and sure enough, people know him. One woman gets mad at him for bringing him up as Felix gave her nightmares as a kid. This other lady tells him about the owner and how Felix only exists in one Freddy's location. She's unsure where Freddy's is at currently though. Dirk is staying at a motel and asks the owner, Maude about it. She tells him about the owner and how his son died drowning, and that a shark brought him to shore, and that's why he made Felix. She then tells him the daughter is still alive, and he realizes she's the author of his favorite book. He goes to her to ask for help. She doesn't speak much but she gives him a necklace. After some complicated detective work using the woman's book, Dirk is able to find the old Freddy's location very hidden. Sure enough, he finds Felix's tank. Dirk gets inside the tank to look for Felix, and he does. But he looks terrifying, he no longer looks like the cute friend he met when he was a kid, he was all broken and old. Dirk tries to get out, but realizes he can't. He remembers that when he was younger, an employee always had to be the one to open the tank, there was no handle on the inside. So now Dirk is stuck in there, swimming away from Felix, forever.
