History:

Evan is Jake's dad. He is in the military and is away in the duration of the story, The Real Jake. He speaks to Jake through the Simon doll so he can know how he's doing while he's away. Unfortunately, Evan's dad dies while away and Jake never finds this out. In some epilogue's, Jake has memories of being at a baseball game with his dad.

History:

Michael is Jake's uncle. He dresses nicely and a catchphrase him, Evan, and Margie quote is the time he said, "that would be bad, very, very bad," which Jake made fun of and then became a family joke.

History:

Brandon is Jake's best friend from school. He shows up in the book at night time, knocking on Jake's window. He invites him to the arcade because he misses him, he even brought his wagon to push Jake in, in case he needs help moving. Brandon is silly and pretends he is melting when Jake takes to long to get to him, which Jake finds funny, but slightly annoying. Jake makes it outside but Margie and Gillian catch them. Margie nearly yells at Brandon, but she scares him so she calms down and tells him he can't do what he was about to do. Brandon apologizes and then he goes home, leaving Jake sad he couldn't go with him.

Nurse Nancy is a kind nurse that shows up when Margie decides to take Jake to the hospice wing where he'll be treated. But when she gets there, she confirms Jake has passed away, leaving her, the 2 nurses with her, and Margie and Gillian upset.
