Short Bio:

Simon is a doll created by Evan so that he can speak to his son Jake while he's away. The doll has something in it so Evan can communicate with him, and it has a filter of a child voice because Evan thinks it would be easier for Jake to talk to someone his age. Simon is hidden in a cabinet and Jake is told not to open it. Simon is the early version of the Stitchwraith. It isn't explained how but in The Real Jake, it's a small doll but in all the epilogue's it's a big tall creature endoskeleton. Since he is made of parts, it's likely the endoskeleton is some random trash while only the head is Simon.

When Detective Larson goes to question Margie about the Stitchwraith and he shows her the picture, she is surprised because she recognizes it as Simon.

In The Real Jake, Simon is always asking Jake what the "Real Jake" did that day. Basically, he wants Jake to make things up and not talk about the cancer treatment and things, so he can get his mind off it and be happy. Everytime Jake and Simon speak and Jake goes to sleep, Margie takes Simon out and works on him. The Simon doll is supposed to be basically like a little Jake. If Jake says he stood up to the school bully, Margie draws him with a black eye, if Jake says his tongue turned purple after drinking a purple drink, Margie makes Simon's tongue purple, if Jake says he rolled around in the grass, Margie puts green stains on him. When Jake's dad dies, that night, he does his usual, pretends to sleep so that Margie can leave and so he can talk to Simon. But Margie tells Jake that Simon isn't coming that night which makes him sad. At the end of the book when Jake dies, the Simon doll gets out of the cabinet, indicating he's possessing it.
