| Jenna's POV |
A/N: this book is already at 33k views and we ain't even halfway through the storyline

I groggily awoke with soft, vanilla lips being pressed all over the skin of my face. I smiled lazily in my sleep, my eyes fluttering open as I made eye contact with Y/N's Y/E/C ones.

"Hi." She whispered softly, pressing her lips to mine but my arm wrapped around her waist to keep the kiss going for a little longer instead of pulling away after a few seconds.

"Hey." I mumbled back on her lips, Y/N giggled uncontrollably while falling back onto the bed. I crawled on top of her, attaching my lips to her neck, not sucking and leaving hickies, but just softly nipping.

Y/N brushed her hands through my hair, wrapping her legs around my waist to pull me down on top of her completely. "What time do we have to be in today?" I asked - it came out a bit muffled due to my face being stuffed in her chest.

"Surprisingly, we have the day off." Y/N hummed, the silky nightgown she was wearing felt cold beneath me. "We could go somewhere... by ourselves... and just spend the day together."

"Yeah?" I glanced up at Y/N to see her smiling down at me. I grinned back at her, excitement filling my body. "Let's make it a date." I suddenly gasped with wide eyes, sitting up while Y/N chuckled at me. "Our first official date!"

"Someone's excited." I heard Y/N mumble to herself as I rushed out of bed in nothing but my boxers, desperately searching through my closet for something to wear.

"Where should we go? What time? What will we do?" I bombarded the poor girl with questions and when I turned around, she was suddenly standing right behind me which made me jump back and grab the frame of the closet door.

"Take a breather, baby." Y/N chuckled smoothly, grabbing some slim-fit black jeans from behind me, a vintage washed out shirt, with a checkered flannel vest. "Put this on and your nice adidas and meet me outside in 10 minutes, okay?" All I could do was nod at her demanding instructions. "Good." Y/N smiled sweetly and grabbed my chin, pulling me in for a sweet, short kiss before pulling away completely and walking out the door.

I was a bit confused for a moment before I quickly changed into the clothes she picked out for me. I grabbed my Superstar Adidas, my wallet, keys, phone, etc. and made my way out the door to Y/N's trailer since I still had some time left.

I didn't wait long for Y/N before her door was thrown open to reveal her in camouflage colored cargo pants, a black Billie Eilish tee, an army green messenger back with some Nike Air Forces. "Ready?" She held her hand out for mine.

"Ready as I'll ever be." I placed my hand in hers before letting out a short-stopped grunt when she pulled me unexpectedly, running a little. "Here we go."

—————

"Have you ever met Billie before?" I asked curiously, sipping my chocolate milkshake. We sat in a small diner not too far from the thrift stores we shopped at earlier and the arcade next door.

"Oh, yeah, she's super cool. She has like this down to earth aura, she's extremely chill, and flirty." Y/N pointed at me with the stem of her cherry that she just ate. "Very, very flirty."

I chuckled causally, I quite honestly expected that of Billie. "Sounds just like her."

"I didn't mind it though, who wouldn't? But, I'd say we're pretty good friends. Her brother, Finneas, he's also really cool. He actually helped me produce my music one time." Y/N used her straw to dig for the whipped cream that melted at the bottom alongside her fudge brownie bites.

"I'll admit... I've listened to all your songs." I lowly confessed. Y/N looked at me with a shocked smile, her straw slowly being placed back in the glass.

"Really?"

"Yeah! You make really good music." I chuckled as I rubbed the back of my neck sheepishly. Y/N folded her arms across her chest with a giggle.

"What's your favorite one?"

"All of them are fucking amazing, but Jigsaw or Footnote." I nodded along with my answers, my eyes glued to the rainbow sprinkles that swirled around in my milkshake.

"Hm, two underrated songs, in my opinion." Y/N hummed with a smile, leaning forward on her elbows. "I think my favorite to write was Best Friend, but the hardest to write was Astronomy."

"Why? For both of them, I mean." I corrected myself with a slight shake of my head.

"Well, Best Friend is about Olivia, obviously. But, Astronomy is about someone I thought I was destined to be with, but all good things come to an end, no?" The girl in front of my stopped eating for a moment, just played with the napkin holder. "It's not like we wanted to breakup, but it was more like we had to. We just weren't good enough for each other and we knew we deserved someone who made time for us."

I stared at her for a long moment - I was processing everything she said and listening intently too. "Yeah, I can understand that a little." I smiled slightly when we made eye contact.

Y/N chuckled before pushing her milkshake glass aside. "I might get a stomach ache from all this junk today." She joked and I laughed alongside her.

"Agreed." I leaned back against the booth. "My mom would definitely nag me a little on eating healthier."

"My mom..." Y/N freezes for a moment, she looked like she was about to spill some sort of big secret. "Nothing, she's the best."

"Couldn't agree more on that." I interlocked our hands together from under the table. Y/N's mood was dampened a bit, but she seemed to cheer up quick by my gesture. "Let's get back and watch a movie, yeah?"
