| Y/N's POV |
A/N: did y'all hear about the author who wrote Coraline? yeah he's been accused of sexually assaulting 14-15 woman and his wife apparently knew
(not proofread)Jenna and I had a fight. You could tell we were completely ready to be married because now we were fighting like a married couple: arguing over the tiniest of things.
We were back home and settled in our house when it started. Finally home and tired of constantly traveling. The American leg of Billie's tour has ended and now behind her month and a half to two months of a break before starting off again in Australia.
Jenna and I got home, finally being able to bask in the feeling of being home once again. We put Juno down to bed and that's when chaos erupted. I was unpacking our bags so I could sleep in tomorrow and not worry about it. Jenna was on her video games, catching up on everything she's missed.
I don't even know what started the fight but it happened and it was heated. I ended up putting my shoes on, kissing Juno's head, and yelling to my fiancé that I needed to take a walk for space.
I was about 15 minutes away from the house, already staying out for an hour. I was sitting at the park that Jenna and I have taken Daisy to plenty of times so she could run around and play with the other dogs.
"Ms. L/N?" My head snapped up to see the kid I haven't seen in so long. "It's me, Archie. Remember?"
"Of course I do." I stood up, seeing the bandages on his hands. "How are you doing?"
"I've been better." He stuffed his hands in his pockets, shivering from the cold. "I turned 18 last week and my mom sent me with $100 to go to the trampoline park to celebrate. But when I got home, everything but my room was packed up and empty." Archie sniffled, rubbing his red eyes. "I've been camping at the homeless shelters since. I don't have anywhere else to go, I don't even know where my mom went."
My heart ached at his words, a feeling of empathy filling my body. "Do you have somewhere to sleep tonight?"
Archie shook his head. "Nah, the shelters were full, all the beds were taken." He looked around the park. "I was just gonna sleep here or something."
"Nonsense. Just come stay the night at my house."
"I possibly couldn't, Ms. L/N. I wouldn't want to intrude or overstep or burden you or even take up space in your house." Archie politely declined.
But I persisted. I didn't want this freshly new 18 year old to be left alone on the streets because his mom was so eager to leave him behind.
"Archie, kid, I'll be damned if I leave you by yourself with nothing but the clothes on your back to survive. It's the middle of December and it's cold. Just join me at my house, I have a spare room." I offered my hand to him.
"I won't turn down the Ms. L/N." Archie chuckled shyly, pulling the hood over his head and holding my hand.
We walked all the way back home. I pushed open our gates after typing the pin in, guiding Archie towards the doors. Once they were unlocked, I got him inside.
"Bathroom is right this way. I want you to brush your teeth and take a shower, okay?" I looked at Archie, earning a sharp nod from him. "Good. Here's a towel, toothbrush, and toothpaste. I'll go get you clothes and show you how to turn the shower on."
