"Chill out, my love." I muttered mindlessly, flipping through the pages of my book as Jenna paced back and forth — she only did that every morning before visiting hours started.

"I can't. I think I'm in, like, a manic state." Jenna let out steady breaths, counting her footsteps each time she circled around the couch I was sitting on. "I don't know if that's bad or not."

"Sometimes." I looked up and smiled at my girlfriend who crashed on the couch with a tired sigh. "You're so cute, though. You're worried about your little bro." I teased her a little, pinching her cheek gently.

Jenna blushed and buried her face in my shoulder. "Shut up." I chuckled quietly and ran my fingers through her hair, scratching the back of her neck lightly since I knew she loved it.

"Come on, let's go somewhere, we haven't been on a date in a while. Billie and Liv are gonna visit Lloyd, he'll be okay." I straddled her waist and held her face in my hands. "Please? Just the two of us again?"

Jenna's face softened with a smile. "Of course, I really really miss you." She nuzzled towards me, kissing my lips slowly.

"Mm good." I hummed appreciatively. "Now, let's go on a breakfast date, that sound good?"

"Absolutely." Jenna nodded with a lick of her lips. I shared a smile with her as we threw our jackets on and matching converse before walking out the door. I made sure to lock it behind us.

"Have you ever talked to Lloyd's mom?" I asked curiously as I snagged a piece of bacon off of her plate.

Jenna sighed. "No. Each time he brought me to his house, she was never around. He says that she gets home late at night and more than often, she's drunk." She shared a concerned look with me. "I gotta go there and get the rest of his stuff so he'll be completely moved into my place."

"You're a really good friend, baby." I placed my hand over hers. "He already thinks of you as his sister."

"Yeah, that's different." Jenna chuckled as she cut into her pancakes.

"A good different." I raised a brow at her which made her smile widely. "I think it's great. He's a good guy and he means well." My phone went off, making Jenna's eyes snap over to it. I smiled and grabbed it, seeing a text from Billie. "Lloyd is back to sleep, he said he missed us."

"Yeah?" Jenna bit down on her lip to hide her smile. "At least he's resting."

"Yes, because he's not as stubborn as you." I clicked my phone off, laughing when Jenna playfully gasped from across the table.

"So rude, but so true." My girlfriend shrugged in defeat, shoveling a spoonful of eggs into her mouth. I smiled and patted the back of her hand before sipping my smoothie, looking out the window of where our booth was.

"We should take a trip." I blurted out, making Jenna look at me in confusion. "We haven't had a vacation and I think we really need one. When Lloyd gets out of the hospital, we can take him, Billie, and Liv and just drive somewhere."

"Somewhere peaceful." Jenna jumped on board, pointing at me. "You're a genius, baby."

"Hm, not really, but thank you." I blushed slightly, Jenna playfully rolling her eyes at my statement. "It won't be right away of course but how about we go up to this cabin that's just two hours away. It's really big, great view of the countryside and there's a nice little tone just 30 minutes away from it where we can do stuff and have fun."

Jenna smiled as she thought of everything we could do on this possible trip. I knew she would be on board immediately — as much as she won't admit, she does need a break. She's been working herself tirelessly to distract herself from Lloyd's accident. I've tried my hardest to help but there's only so much I can do. This trip is one of those things I can do — get her to relieve some of the stress and push the pressure of the world off her shoulders.

Plus I'm almost 3 months pregnant so a break would be nice.

"I'm down, I'd absolutely love to." Jenna smiled as she reached for my hand again, intertwining our fingers. "This'll be great."

"I know." I winked at her, causing her to chuckle. "We deserve it."
