"Roll over." I spoke in a baby voice to Daisy who looked at me with her tongue goofily sticking out, her brain clicking for a moment and rolling on her side till she was back on her feet. "Good girl."

I fed her a treat from my hand, watching her devour it in one bite. We rescued Daisy about a couple weeks ago from the pound. She was a ravenous dog that was violent and harmful to the community she was dumped in. Jenna found out about her through a friend from the pound and we managed to save her before they put her down.

She's been doing some training so she wouldn't be aggressive towards us. It took a week for her to even look at us. By now, she wasn't the most comfortable, but just enough to follow us around. She never sets foot in our bedroom though and she's oddly curious about Banjo.

Banjo, on the other hand, loves Daisy. He tries to climb on her all the time, play with her toys that are like twice his size, and even tries to get her roused up so she'd play with him.

Jenna sees Daisy has her baby girl — it's honestly the cutest thing in the world. I come home from work or from shopping to find Daisy and Jenna watching tv on the couch together or playing with Daisy's toys outside.

With Daisy being around the house more, Jenna hasn't had too many depressive episodes anymore. That discovery made me happy and realize that she got them most of the time when I would be gone doing something or in another room working without seeing her.

Having Daisy — who wasn't lazy like Banjo — made it possible for my baby to get out of bed. Jenna now took care of Daisy like she was our child. I'm glad that while I'm gone, Jenna had a companion who could easily match her energy.

If she wasn't hangry, at least.

"Good boy." I cooed when Banjo purred uncontrollably. He was curled up in my lap, tucking his little paws in the pocket of my hoodie. I flipped through the shows/movies of Netflix while I waited for Jenna to come upstairs with dinner.

"Come on, Daisy." I heard Jenna say and soon enough, my girlfriend peered through the doorway, handing me the bowl of spaghetti that she made. "Enjoy, my love."

I hummed happily now that I had food in my hands and because Jenna kissed my forehead. As I've said before, Daisy remained outside our door, lying down with her head cutely rested on her paws. Banjo jumped down from my lap and joined her, cuddling into her stomach. Daisy side eyed him but left it alone.

"I'm glad they get along." Jenna chuckled, twirling her fork and scooping a forkful of spaghetti in her mouth.

"Me too." I muffled out, clicking on Outer Banks. "Oh, thank you for dinner, by the way."

"Anytime, darling. I'll cook any meal for you." Jenna gave me a bubbly smile. "Even if you cook better than I do, I'll try my hardest to make it good."

"You don't even have to try. This is delicious, baby." I cupped her face, giving her a soft kiss on her lips. Jenna smiled as I rested my head on her shoulder. We continued to eat while watching the show, Banjo joining us on the bed again but nearby our feet. Daisy was completely asleep outside our door.

Jenna's arm wrapped around my shoulders, pulling me further into her side as she kissed the top of my head. "You mean the world to me." She whispered before placing her hand on my belly. "And you too, baby girl."

I ran my fingers through Jenna's long, black hair. She looked up at me with the most loving eyes ever. Without Jenna by my side, I honestly don't know where I'd be 6-7 months ago. She's been my rock, my savor, my lover, and my best friend.

And soon enough, the other mother of our daughter.
