Off the shore part 2

YN POV

"He's so sexy..." I looked at him from a distance from the surface of the ocean. "YN... what are you doing? You'll get us in trouble." "Real humans aren't bad. Dad is lying to scare us." I rolled my eyes. "Look I don't want Dad to yell at you. You know he don't play.." Silvan shrugs at me. "I'll be fine. I'll meet you later." I started swimming closer but enough so he doesn't see me. I wish i was fully human... I have feet for only 5 hours. My parents wants us to have an education on land to understand human life. My uncle Marrow tells us how humans work and compare us mermaids to humans like him. He recently married my aunt Evanline which is a mermaid like us. So he took us in his class. I want to get married like them.

"Oh no there's a storm coming. Melo's in trouble!" I dove in the water and started to swim as fast as I could. I swam up the surface and seen that Melo wasn't on shore but i heard his voice yelling for help. "OH MY GOODNESS!!" I seen him slowly fall on the bottom of the sea. His body was lifeless. I swam down where his body is and grabbed his hands as i swam up. i dragged his body up on the shore's sand. I watched as he laid down on the sand. "Melo wake up! You're ok... It's ok!" I caressed his cheek. Then i hold his hands. He started coughing water. "Who are- you?" He squint his eyes. And then his eyes widened.. "Mermaid... Mr. Marrow nieceee..?" He blankly mumbled. "Shhhhhhhhh!!" I whispered to him. His heart was beating fast. "LAMELO!!!!! LAMELO!!!"! It seems like someone's looking for him. "I gotta go.." I whispered as I let his hands go. "Wait..." Melo tried to reach his hands out but he had a big scar on his arm. I disappeared in the water as I swim back home. Lord my dad is gonna kill me....

MELO POV

"MELO!! MELO!!" I heard people calling my name. I had a scar on my arms from scraping it from the dock. "I FOUND HIM!!" A cop yells coming towards me. I was in shock. Not only did i see a mermaid but it was the girl from my class....

-hospital-

"See this was all your fault! If you wasn't scaring my baby then he would have been home.."  My mom grunts at my dad. "PUH LEASE!" My dad rolled his eyes. "Does your arm still hurt baby?" My mom asked me. "I'm fine mom.." I sighed. My mind wasn't on my arm... My mind was on the mermaid. I cannot believe i just seen the girl in my class. It makes more sense. She was unrealistically pretty. I want to know more about her. And her life. "How are you feeling Lamelo?" My nurse asks me. "I'm ok." I answered. "Oof look at that scar over there. It'll heal over time." She grins. "You'll be out before you know it." She leaves the room. "It's them mermaids." "What?" "THE MERMAIDS! It attacked him. They don't like us Ann." "Mermaids?? Our son could have fuckin drown and you care about a damn mermaid. Eat shit." Mom storms out. "She'll get over it. But you boy, you seen one right ?? That's how you got the scar." He inches closer to me. "Dad...i don't know, everything was a blurr." I answered him. "Argh... you sound just like your mother. I'm going to the cafeteria." He storms out. Figures.

YN POV

"We have to go straight home after school. Dad already yelled at us yesterday about you saving that boy." Silvan shrugs. "Yeah i know you don't have to remind me twice." I rolled my eyes. Last night i got in trouble for helping Melo. My family hates humans. Except my aunty. But my dad strictly told me to not get close to humans. But i couldn't let him drown like that. I'm not evil. "THESE PEOPLE ARE EVIL ! DONT BEFRIEND A HUMAN!"

Next week Melo came into class with an arm cast. My uncle was teaching us math. I glanced around the room and Melo was looking dead at me. I tried not to make eye contact. I cleared my throat and looked at my notebook. Class was over and I got up from my desk. "Hey uhm YN!" Melo grabs my attention. As soon as he says my name i ran out the class. I felt bad. I panicked... My dad said his words. I ran to the bathroom and started panting in the stall. I sighed. I found my brother next to the bathroom door. "YN WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN??" "SHHHHHHH!!" Melo tried to have a conversation with me and I started running. I whispered to him. "You what?? You're lucky uncle ain't snitch on you." He says. "Come on i already got your lunch. We'll eat outside." He says. So i ate with Silvan by the entrance. "You think being a half mermaid would be a higher chance of getting killed?" I asked. "I don't know what these humans are capable of. Maybe they'll hang us. Eat us. But we just gotta keep our identities safe." My brother said. I ate my fish sandwich. Later that evening i walked on the shore as I looked at the sunset. "HEYYY HEYYY!!!" I knew it was Melo so I dived into the sea.. I swam away. I swam home. "Hey dad." I smiled. "Hey baby! How was class?" He asked me. "It was good." I grinned. I went to my rocky room and laid in bed.

MELO POV

"HEYYYY!! HELLLLO???" I was basically yelling at nothing. I stared at my reflection of the water. "I just wanted to say thank you.." I sighed. I knew it was YN because she ran away from me earlier when i tried to talk to her. It was definitely her. i sat on the shore dock. I tried telling my friends about her and how she saved me but they didn't believe me. So i gotta do research myself. So i went to the dock. I tried to get her but she formed into a mermaid and jumped. My jaw dropped. I can't believe she's real. I thought of ways to talk to her. Clarify.. So then i to Mr. Marrow. "MR. MARROW!" I ran to his class. "Melo what are you doing here after school?" Mr. Marrow asks me as he grades our work. "Your niece right?" I asked her. "Melo i'm not going to talk to you about my personal life." He rolls my eyes. "No no listen... Ive been very interested in her. I mean she's gorgeous. But do you think im her type? I mean im just letting you know. But if you don't know then it's okay." I kept going. "OK OK STOP. So you want to get with my niece?" He raised his eyebrows. "I mean not like that. I'm a changed man." I told him. "Melo... I'm not letting you get with my niece. YN is here to focus in my class and so are you." Mr. Marrow strictly says. "But please sir. I promise i'll treat her right. "Let me befriend her then.."  He eyes me up and down. "Melo i said what i said.. i'll see you tomorrow." He dismisses me. I sighed. I went home and went to my room. I looked at my scar on my arm.. "I'll talk to YN.. and I got a plan."
