Karl POV.

I didn’t say anything else from there, instead just thinking as I took the plate of pancakes and slunk over to the table. As I settled down I began eating my food instead of waiting for everyone else to arrive like I usually did.

Sapnap seemed concerned when he appeared downstairs, knowing how I usually was. Yet he didn’t say anything, nor did Dream and Techno when they eventually joined. It was George who began happily talking as he sat down. “So what does everyone think of the pancakes?” He asked, looking directly at me yet the whole table answered the question.

“It tastes good.” Sapnap simply nodded. “I might need to borrow the recipe sometime.” The ravenette’s gaze turned to look at me as I sat eating.
“I think it is delicious.” I added on. “Thank you George, and Techno, for making this.” The brunette beamed with pride when I mentioned him. Techno remained silent.

Dream was shockingly quiet. If I were him I would be praising my soulmate to high-heaven to let him know that these were delicious. Yet once again humans' worse senses seemed to stop him from doing this. It was sad to be here to witness, no matter how many times I went through this experience.

“Anyway.” George continued, lowering his gaze down to the plate of food as he basically drowned his pancakes in maple syrup. “I have come up with some plans for things that we can do today. Since we have two guests spending their first day in Florida.” He motioned towards me, not glancing once at Sapnap.

“What kind of things?” Dream asked, seeming slightly upset about something as he studied his brunette soulmate. George however did not see the fact that the blond was not feeling happy and continued his rambling.
“Well a good first place to go is the Florida Everglades!” He explained.

“The Everglades?” Techno seemed uncertain, as did Dream. “Is that seriously the first place that you want to take them? Seems kinda stereotypical.”
“Stereotypical how?” George asked, turning his attention towards the pair.

“The idea that Florida is just a swamp full of hicks? I mean they’ve already seen Dream so they know about the hicks but still. Stereotypes suck George.” Dream began to complain, glaring at his friend across the table, as if the insult had woken him up. George allowed a chuckle but didn’t respond after that.

“Besides, you need a tour to get a good look and they are expensive and hard to come by.” Techno added. Reluctantly I nodded, seeing sense in what it was that he was saying. I didn’t want to have the three of them spend vast sums of money to try and win me and Sapnap over, in fact we’d already been won over by them.

I opened my mouth, planning on explaining this but before I had a chance George bounced up eagerly. “Money is no issue, isn’t that right Dream? You are rich and can easily pay for a tour of the area, can’t you?” George continued to grin sweetly at the blond, whose head was down as he dragged the pancakes around the maple syrup with his fork.

“Dream?” He asked again, brows furrowing as he walked around the table to the blond and brushed his fingers through his hair. The look of longing was plain in Dream’s gaze at the contact, but in less than a second he swatted the Brit’s hand away.
“Right… sure.” He feigned confidence.

It was painful to see the longingness unnoticed by his soulmate. George basically pranced back to his spot with the grin still on his face. "See Techno." He smiled. "We can easily pay for a tour to give our dear tourist friends the prime Florida experience." He settled back down while grabbing his knife and fork.

"You don't need to do that." Sapnap pointed out, giving an awkward smile as he did so. "You letting us stay is more than enough."
"Yes. The two of us would be more than fine if you just wanted to hang out around here." I nodded in agreement with my soulmate.

Dream seemed appreciative, having realised that we were trying to help him not shell out large sums of money on tours of the Everglades. George didn't notice this thought and continued to brush us off. "It'll be fine. There are some truly beautiful spots I wanna show you Karl… and Sapnap."

It was sounding like a broken record at this point, with him repeating a dozen times over and over again the exact same thing. Thankfully though I had finished my plate of pancakes, since they were delicious, and although it was impolite I decided to stand and leave.

“Thank you both so much for making breakfast.” I said, giving another respectful nod to both George and Techno. “I am going to go and have a shower… I will be back in ten minutes or so.” The group all gave small nods or ‘okay’s as I left. The moment I was out of the room I breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that it worked.

“Darn it…” When I returned to my room I cursed, feeling annoyed at George’s persistence to try and get a romance out of me. Some may find it endearing, and admittedly I did too, but not when it was targeted towards me instead of towards his soulmate. I would need to find a way to somehow get his love and affection away from me.

Footsteps began to follow up the stairs and after a moment the door of my room opened without anyone knocking beforehand. Sapnap stood there with a sympathetic gaze. “Are you okay?” He asked me, and all that I could do was nod at him again. Without a word he shut the door behind him and embraced me in a hug.

I allowed him to hold me, taking comfort in the contact and the warmth that radiated from him. As we embraced his body glowed with his internal flame, something which I nuzzled into. The feel of the glowing warmth against my cheek was something that I had always loved.

“George is still planning the trip to the everglades.” Sapnap informed me and I let out a half-hearted sigh. “But all of us are trying to talk him into it.”
“He is stubborn.” I grumbled. “But did you see Dream? How much he seemed to love the touch that George gave?”

Sapnap merely nodded. We didn’t speak much more after that and he eventually left.
