How many times have I named a chapter after a meal of the day?

George POV.

It felt strange to be the first one up in the morning, with the hallways still echoing with words from last night. They reminded me of the weight of what was going on, with the idea that most of the people living in this house, or at least staying there right now were not human. Dream and I were both outnumbered.

The way that I said that made it seem as though Techno, Karl, and Sapnap were going to try and overthrow the two of us. Even with all the mysteries and distrust that were currently in the air I knew that none of them would do that, especially Techno.

Perhaps I wasn’t the first one awake. Everyone else could already be up and just waiting quietly, in their rooms or downstairs without wanting to say anything, since I think we all knew this conversation was strange and difficult. After lingering for a while I slowly went down the stairs, finding the kitchen and living room just as empty and silent as upstairs.

I set myself down on the couch, shivering at the coldness of the room against my skin. But it wasn’t actually that cold, we were still in Florida afterall. Perhaps it was the tension of the situation, since there was so much that was going on. I didn’t waste time thinking about it as I clasped my hands together with my eyes closed and took a shaky breath.

While I didn’t say anything I wanted to make life much easier for all of us, deciding that food might help. It was only half past seven, but there were some delivery services that were currently open. Warm food might be a good way to bring us together before this conversation, leading me to wonder when I became this organused.

But I began to wonder some things about the angels as I scrolled along, looking over different breakfast options. I wondered why they were here, what the chances were that we had two separate groupings of angels becoming friends with us, yet they didn't appear to be friends with each other.

Then I looked at the options. There were all sorts of deluxe options that I could try out for breakfast, including pancake, french toast, and waffle buffets. As I peered over it I was led into another series of strange thoughts. What food would an angel eat? Since I wanted to know what to prepare for them.

The three of them had all eaten regular people food before, but maybe angels ate different things. Was it rude of me to have them eat our food instead of their own? Although I was annoyed at some of the things they had lied or kept hidden, I didn't want them to eat stuff they didn't like.

In an attempt to be accepting and inclusive I googled angel food. Perhaps there was a Bible verse that included a grocery list of 'angel food' that I could go off. I guessed it would be cloud pieces and hopes or something bullshit like that, but still inclusivity. The search loaded in and I was disappointed.

All that came up was sponge cake and a delivery service. I highly doubted that this was actual angel food and so I sighed. Part of me considered waking Techno and asking him, yet I knew that if I woke him I could possibly lose a finger, from experience. "I'll have to figure this out on my own." I sighed.

I pulled my card from my pocket and took the time to put the information into my phone. Usually I would have used Dream's money, since he had more of it and was kind enough to let me use it. But I should probably use my own money. The blond was going through a lot and I figured it was best to leave his money alone.

Eventually I had racked up over one hundred and fifty dollars on food. I wanted to make sure that everything was covered so that everyone would be happy. Fruit, pancakes, waffles, French toast, bacon, juice, jam, whipped cream. All that I could think of before finishing my order and asking for it to be delivered ASAP.

Then I just sat there waiting, watching the clock which hung on the wall as the hands spun around the circular face. It was as though I slipped into a trance, waiting for food or Dream or one of the angels. I didn't want to just sit here alone, but I also didn't want them here because then I'd have to talk to them.

A set of footsteps appeared down the stairs and I sat up straight, expecting it to be Techno, Karl, or Sapnap. Instead it was Dream, a hood over his head and his gaze moved to look over towards me. “Morning.” I greeted, managing a smile. “How did you sleep?”

“I barely slept.” He admitted honestly, rubbing his hand over his face. “Thinking of having something to eat and then going back to bed.”
“Weren’t we going to be talking to Karl and Sapnap?” I asked him. “And Techno.” It felt wrong to include him in the same branch with the other two, since he’d been our friend for years.

“I don’t know.” Dream sighed, moving to sit beside me on the couch. I allowed myself to relax alongside him, body moving to lean against him. Being able to sit this close to him brought me comfort and reassurance, knowing that there was nothing he could throw at me to shock me after what I’d found out last night.

“So what are you doing up so early?” The blond asked me, adjusting himself so that we were both more comfortable. “Usually you sleep until midday, or at least until 10am.”
“Couldn’t sleep either.” I told him. “I decided to order breakfast, and figured that it could help to calm everyone down and make talking easier.”

“How much of my money did you throw away on that?” He asked, letting out a half-hearted chuckle as he did. That was something that I had done before, but not today.
“None.” I reassured him. His eyes widened and he looked over at me as though he was surprised, which I guess made sense.

His face seemed to soften with a proud glow. I didn’t acknowledge this as I continued to cuddle against him. “Don’t get used to it though.” I joked. “I still do love your money.”
“That’s fine by me.” He responded, and we continued to cuddle one another.

I had wished I had had this opportunity last night, the chance to be able to cuddle up with the blond. Perhaps that would have offered me more sleep. As we sat curled up with one another I found my eyes getting droopy, my eyes fluttered shut and I curled up closer to the blond, drifting off to sleep.
