George POV.
How many times has this been now? Four? Five? I had lost count. Techno would have also lost count by now though, so all that mattered was I had been here to support him. I knocked on the door, perhaps I would be the lucky one who was finally able to get him out of bed, perhaps to have a shower or something to eat.
“Techno.” I knocked on the door as I said his name, waiting patiently for some sort of response from the pink haired angel, despite the fact that he had not responded to a single one of us and so we’d resort to just walking in. “Please can I come in?” I asked him. “Just to check on you and make sure you haven’t died or something.”
Can angels even die? I wasn’t sure of that. After all, apparently their ageing works differently to humans such as myself and Dream. I sighed, crossing my arms and deciding to do what I usually do best, give the best advice out of anyone here.
“Look, Techno.” I sighed, moving to lean against the wall with my head tilted towards his doorway. “We all know that this contract is something seriously important, and we know that you aren’t going to sign it because you apparently hate your dad. You don’t need to worry about it, we think you are amazing and trust you to realise you don’t need that job.”
I personally think I was as great at advice as Techno was. With a grin I opened the door. “We know you’ll make the right decision…” I cut myself off when I saw that he surprisingly wasn’t here. All that remained of him was a wrinkle on the bed where he had been sitting for the last half a day.
The fact that he had moved caused me to smile proudly. "My advice has helped him." I definitely was going to tell Sapnap and Karl and Dream this. Perhaps I should have put a bet on this, but I was too noble for that.
I politely shut the door of the room before hurrying downstairs with a wide grin on my face. In my excitement I almost barreled into Dream. "George!?" He gasped out, moving to grab me. "Why the hell are you running?"
"Techno has moved." I told him. "I got Techno to move."
"Oh good. Thank you so much George." He seemed happy, smiling at me in acknowledgement of the importance of my actions. I was quite proud of that fact, that I'd gotten Techno to move and had my soulmate looking at me as though I was the most important person in the whole entire world, which I was.
"It feels weird to see him like this." Dream sighed sadly, glancing away as he thought of our friend. I did agree, he was not one to usually be so emotional and closed off. Usually he was not emotional, yet still closed off.
"I know." I nodded, patting him on the shoulder at the same time caringly.
"He is apparently our Guardian Angel yet I feel like I'm giving him more guidance than he's given me“And it also feels weird that I gave him the advice that got him out of his slump.” I explained proudly, leaning into the blond. “And I thought he was supposed to be the Guardian Angel giving us advice."
Dream just continued with his dopey smile, something that I adored about him. He was basically a puppy, if the puppy was bigger than me, incredibly attractive, and someone who I had been intimate with more than once in the past few days. I leaned in to kiss him a few times, it was an excuse for me to reward myself for my decision.
“I need to go find Sapnap!” I claimed excitedly, pulling away from the blond. “He said that I wouldn't be able to get Techno to cheer up and I did! I have to go brag.” Before I could move too far the blond grabbed my arm and tugged me back.
“Slow down darling.” He instructed. “Sapnap isn’t available to talk right now.”
“What? Why not?” I spun around to look at him, quickly finding myself to be annoyed. I wanted to brag and he wasn’t allowing me to do that because according to Dream, Sapnap wasn’t available right now.
“He and Karl said that they had something important that they needed to discuss.” Dream explained to me. “‘Private relationship stuff’, by Sapnap’s words.”
“Are they getting a divorce?” I gasped, since I didn’t want to find out the two people who helped get me and Dream together were getting a divorce, surely that was a bad omen.
“No, I don't think that it is about a divorce.” Dream shook his head. A half-amused smile was on his face, and I tailed after him. He moved through to the kitchen, opening up different cupboards and the fridge to get food out which he began using to prepare a sandwich.
“Then what is it?” I asked. “Is Karl pregnant?”
“Why is that always your second guess?” The blond asked. “Whenever any of our friends have any drama it is divorce, then pregnancy.”
“Those are the two most likely options.” I pointed out. A smug smile was on my face, just wanting to see if I could tease the blond.
Dream let out a sign, one that was very loud and made it clear that he was over my bullshit, trust me I was completely used to the sound. “Do you want to help me make something to eat?” Was the best distraction that he could think of offering me, “I was going to make myself a ham and cheese sandwich if you want one. You can cut the cheese.”
His eyes had been focusing on the food, only momentarily flicking his eyes over to check on me every half a minute or so. Instead of moving to help him I just sunk down in one of the chairs at the counter. This was a common trick I used, and I humbly present it as some advice. If you want to get out of something, a distraction that involves fluttering your lashes always helps.
“I’d prefer it if you made my sandwich.” I let him know, hands spreading out over the countertop as I flashed him a smile. It wasn’t a movie star smile like he could do, instead a ‘I love you more than anything’ smile. “You always know how to make it the way I like. You put the right type of cheese, the right amount of ham, and cut it at the right angle.”
He attempted to push a block of cheese over for me to cut. “Then I think it is about time I taught you to do it for yourself.” Dream hummed. “That way you can eat ham and cheese sandwiches whenever you feel like having one.”
“I only feel like having one when you make it for me.” A helpful fact for him to use.
Dream continued to smile, even chuckling at what I said as though I was being unserious and funny. “Maybe you should just starve then.” He continued to smile, a look of challenge appearing on his face. “Since I can’t always be here to take care of you.”
“Maybe you should…”
I naturally cut myself off as someone with familiar pink hair descended down the stairs, catching both of our attention.
