Karl POV.

“George.” I knocked on his bedroom door. “I was wanting to talk to you… about last night.” I had rehearsed it for the past hour with Sapnap, trying to think over what I should say to him. The goal was for me to talk to him and say that perhaps we wouldn’t be a good match, then nudge him subtly in the direction of his real soulmate.

“Please can we talk.” I glanced back over my shoulder, seeing Sapnap standing in the doorway of my room and planning on watching and listening to the conversation. I closed my eyes, focusing intently and trying to listen if he was in the room and still sleeping. There was nothing there, and so I turned back to my soulmate with a shrug.

“Perhaps he’s downstairs.” Sapnap suggested, and I curtly nodded at him in agreement, turning towards him and away from the bedroom.
“Should I head downstairs alone and try to talk to him?” I asked. “Or would it be better if you came as well?”

“I can head down and have a look.” He offered. “Then if he’s there I’ll send you down. If he’s not, I'll bring you up some breakfast in bed.” The suggestion of breakfast in bed sounded nice, I was still somewhat hungover and wanted to lay down, however now that I was out of bed I didn’t want to go back to bed, instead wanting to get some work done.

Without saying anything Sapnap figured out what I was going to say. “So do you want to go downstairs?” He asked and I nodded at him. The ravenette just nodded in response, watching as I went to the staircase and headed down to the kitchen.

Techno was downstairs in the kitchen, just leaning against the counter as he ate a bowl of cereal. His gaze slid coldly along the room towards me just as he finished his mouthful, greeting me with a ‘mornin’ as I walked into the room.

“Good morning.” I responded, managing a smile. George wasn’t in the room, and from where I sat I couldn’t see him in the living room either. In an attempt to look casual I slowly moved over to the pinkette. “Do you know where George is?” As I asked the question I continued to look.
“Nope.” He hummed quickly. “Haven’t seen him since last night.”

“Oh, okay. Thanks anyway.” I turned to retreat back upstairs but Techno asked me a question that caused me to stop and pause.
“Weren’t you going on a date with him last night?” He asked, as though he wasn’t entirely sure of what he was saying. “To some British restaurant. How did it go?”

“It wasn’t my thing.” I answered quickly, with the right amount of sombreness and sincerity. “I don’t think he and I are meant to be sadly.” There was a hum from the other man, one that seemed accepting but also slightly disappointed, which I thought was strange since I hadn’t seen him show any interest in me or my relationship with George.

“Anyway, I was just wanting to talk to him.” I answered. “Me and Sapnap were going to be planning some fun things to do in Florida and probably wouldn’t see him for the rest of the day so I can’t tell him later.” My heart fluttered with anxieties as I shifted under his firm gaze, as though he knew all my fears.

"Didn't Sapnap ask George and Dream to be your tour guide?” He questioned, setting down his bowl and slowly walking towards me. It felt like one of those moments from a human detective movie when the mask was pulled off and the truth was revealed. I doubted that he would know the truth though, in fact in my worry I almost didn’t remember the question.

“Oh… well… he did, but we decided to have a look for something ourselves.” I managed to explain, feeling some confidence as the pink haired man standing opposite me didn’t look as though he was doubting anything I said. “Especially after the date last night. I just feel so guilty about it.” A sheepish smile slowly grew on my face and I took a step back.

“Fair enough.” He merely hummed, giving a nod. It felt as though he was suspicious, as though he didn’t believe me. I managed to continue smiling and gave him a polite goodbye before disappearing upstairs.

Yet despite the interaction that I had had it still left me without having found George. I sighed in disappointment, going to my bedroom where Sapnap was waiting. “Well?” He questioned. “Did you manage to talk to George?” I told him that I hadn’t, explaining I’d run into Techno who told me he hadn’t seen George either.

“So we still need to find a way to talk to George and try and put down any relationship that will be happening between you both.” I gave a nod, walking across the room to my suitcase and digging through to find the pearl. As I clicked it open I returned to the bed, curling on the edge and watching with furrowed brows.

Sapnap studied me momentarily before moving to sit alongside me. This was about the third or fourth time we’d seen through all of the information about Dream and George, yet it felt good to look over it. “I feel like I am missing stuff.” I muttered. “It just seems like I am missing out on information about them.”

“Surely you aren’t, dove.” He hummed. “I know that you are good at reading this kind of information. You are doing great.” It wasn’t much, but it was completely sweet of him and I nuzzled closely. The two of us just laid there amongst one another without any words, just communicating with body language.

There was a knock on the door, scaring the two of us apart and I quickly dropped the pearl under my bed. Sapnap stood up and walked over to the door, only glancing over to me once to make sure I was alright. To help pass the idea that I had been looking for things to do I scrambled to get my phone out and open Google.

“Hey.” Sapnap greeted as he opened the door. There was a wide grin on his face, I could sense it from where I sat on the other side of the room. “What’s up, Techno?” I froze as I heard the name, thinking that perhaps he was outside my room because of our earlier interaction.

“Can I come in?” He asked, and although I would have probably said no if I had the chance, I knew it wasn’t polite and so I bit my tongue. Sapnap glanced over at me and when he saw me give a nod he turned back.
“Sure.” It was a simple nod before the ravenette stood back. “Come on in.”
