Karl POV.
After opening the can I took a cautious sniff, nose quickly scrunching up at the strange and foreign smell that I had encountered. Yet it wasn’t something I was immediately opposed to and I quickly took a small sip of the monster energy drink. This was delicious, and I grinned to myself while taking another sip.
As I drank the contents of the can I watched the door. It was not see-through, but I could basically see and hear Dream from his rampant emotions. He was just hanging around outside feeling a mix of anger, annoyance, and betrayal. I wanted to open the door and question him, but after he had been snapping at me earlier.
Feeling miserable at what I was doing I turned and walked upstairs, only stopping to get a second can of the monster energy drink for Sapnap to drink. As I passed by George’s room I could hear him continuing to talk, knowing that it was with Technoblade on one of their video livestreams.
Quietly I opened the door of George’s room, sparing a glance in and seeing him happily rambling in the middle of his game. I just wanted to check on him, managing to sense his stiffness and longingness as he played. Part of me hoped that this was directed towards Dream, yet I solemnly knew it may be directed towards me.
Before I let this feeling overwhelm me I shut the door and left unnoticed. Sapnap was still in my room and I joined him. The ravenette sat on my bed and was brushing his fingers through the feathers on his wings, letting them loosely float onto the sheets.
“Hey.” He greeted me lovingly as I entered the room. “Did you manage to talk to Dream?”
“I tried to.” I answered. “But he was acting cold towards me. It was pretty useless.” I sighed while rubbing my face. “However he did give me a drink that was quite nice.” I offered out the still sealed can for him.
“Thank you.” Sapnap hummed when he took it, opening the can and beginning to drink. “So should I go and talk to Dream? Do you think that would make a difference?”
“Sadly not. He went on a walk and I do not know what time he will return. And he told me that would be after dinner at the earliest.”
At some point during this explanation I had begun anxiously tapping my foot. My soulmate easily noticed my angst and moved to comfort me. His arms wrapped around my waist and I pressed my head into his shoulder.
Both of the cans were set down on the ground and he directed me onto the bed. With gentle touches from his hands he directed me to lay down and cuddled himself up next to me in order to bring me physical comfort. It calmed my anxiousness and when Sapnap noticed this he decided to ask a question.
“So what did we want to do now?” I asked. “How should we deal with this? George is still unsure if he loves me or not, and Dream hates me. That basically meant I had to bench myself in order for us to make any progress, since anything that I could do could cause George to fawn over me more and Dream to hate me.
“Maybe we could make dinner.” I glanced over as Sapnap said that. With all of my love to the ravenette angel he was not a good chef, neither was I to be completely honest. Although food was often something that could connect humans, I doubt that would happen with the terrible way our food would turn out.
“I know what you’re going to say.” He hummed. “For being an angel my food is unholy and would probably end up harming the humans.”
“You know that I wouldn’t word it like that.” I responded, stroking at his shoulder with my arm while continuing to rest my forehead against his shoulder.
He let out a snarky ‘uh-huh sure’, although he knew that I was telling the truth. “However I doubt that we could mess up a simple recipe.” He hummed out in suggestion. “Maybe mac’n’cheese, I heard that is a popular human food.”
“That could work.” I nodded.
As I leaned over his shoulder he pulled a phone out and began searching for recipes that we could use that they’d like. “Maybe some bacon bites would be nice.” I offered.
“We could add some hot sauce for extra flavour.” Sapnap offered in response.
“Or some broccoli, since it is important to be healthy.”
‘That sounds a little too far.” The ravenette chuckled. “We want them to like us, remember dove? That won’t happen if we spike their food with vegetables.” I rolled my eyes, feeling annoyed that he was making jokes about something as serious as eating healthy.
Both of us sat giggling back and forth as we planned out what we could cook for them. I had a genius idea and I giggled. “We could make some desert as well!” I offered. “Perhaps just one cake that they can share.”
“That might work.” He nodded, and opened a new tab to begin looking for cake recipes.
We continued passing information back and forth while researching, planning on finding a simple yet yummy looking recipe that we could make. Then we’d begin cooking for them, or would summon some food, however that seemed harder to do. It would make it more difficult to get away with, but we decided against it.
“Hopefully these will help us.” I gave a small smile, studying another recipe that we came across. “If Dream likes the food then hopefully he’ll warm back up to me, and this could give George and Dream the opportunity to bond over food.”
“Then George will hopefully get away from my boyfriend.” He growled protectively.
It made me blush at the unknown fierceness before giggling as he kissed me. “You don’t need to be so worried.” I reassured him. “I would never leave you.” It was clear my beautiful Seraphim boyfriend wanted to cuddle some more but I stood up to leave.
“Wait where are you going?” He asked in a whine.
“I am leaving to get dinner organised.” I told him. “You can come and join me beautiful.” I smiled at him, seeing the blush rise up his face as I walked out of the room.
