Philza POV.

The magic, I felt it fizzle out. The connection between the contract and my nerves was severed in a quick instant. A satisfied smile grew on my face knowing what it meant. All of the resistance that I had faced over the last several hundred years were all in vain, they were all over now. It was something that made me smile.

Honestly I had expected it to take a lot longer for the pink haired archangel to give in, since he had been so stubborn for the last few centuries. Perhaps he had been wanting to come back for ages but was too prideful to come back on his own. That was one of the only things that I could rationalise this as.

He would now be at my workplace, in the office that I, his father, had once run. Now he would likely be looking through my things, potentially getting rid of any belongings that he doesn’t want to keep around, or sending them back to me.

ᛏᚩᛘᛘᛁ was still in his room, likely asleep, but I knew without a doubt that he would be interested in hearing about the good news, that his brother was back and that he had accepted the role of Head Cupid. All that worried me was the fact that Karl and Sapnap were both still holding their own positions, after what they heard me say about them.

That was a regret. All of the emotions that I felt, happy and sad, after having the opportunity to see my son again caused my tongue to slip. It caused all of the thoughts and angers that I kept under memories of my boy to come to light. When they were unleashed once I met him, many of my other emotions and angers followed after.

But the two cupids, the Seraphim and the Cherubim, reminded me of my son in both good and bad ways. Both were desperate to thrive in my industry, something that Techno was nothing alike for, but they also wanted to try different options, use different tactics in order to get humans together. That was why they often suffered, something I called them out for.

I was wanting to see Techno now. Our last encounter didn’t end on the best of terms, that was something that I was willing to admit. I wanted to talk with him and show that anything harsh I may have said I didn’t mean. Plus the Head Cupid would need a mentor to help teach him the strings of the job… I’m pretty sure that was the human term.

“Just give him time ᛒᚼᛁᛚᛋᛅ.” I told myself, putting more emphasis on my own name as I muttered it to myself. He may still be slightly angry at me, but he did at least see enough sense to take the job in the first place, at the very least.

A knock on the door startled me, causing my wings to flicker as my head tilted in the direction that the sound that came from. I wasn’t expecting anyone to be visiting me today, or at any occasion in the near future to be completely honest. As I turned towards the door I tucked my wings behind my back in a neat fold.

The knock echoed out again loud enough to send a surge of annoyance down my spine, and I managed to take a breath to avoid verbalising my annoyance. “Yes, yes, I am coming.” I smiled, despite knowing they couldn’t see it. When I opened the door I was immediately taken aback, going as far as to gasp.

“Techno?” I was surprised, but happy to see my son. He stood in the doorway, showing little emotion in his expression as he stood there.
“Hello father.” It felt like a hallucination seeing him standing there, red eyes surprisingly dull as he looked towards me.

“Hello…” I was impolite as I responded like that. Usually I would at least give him a dignifying response, giving a smile and saying his name, being the first to ask how he was. Yet I didn’t say anything, instead just looking at my son, who appeared completely different when he wasn’t lingering on the meek plain of the humans.

It took only a few moments for my father-ness to be replaced with the politeness which I was supposed to show when someone came to my door. “What are you doing here?” I asked him. It was a shock for me to still sound so rude. “I mean… you signed the contract?”

He gave one nod, it was quick and he didn’t indulge me with any other words, any other emotions. I waited patiently, well somewhat patiently. “Honestly Techno, I expected differently of you.” A small smile appeared on my face as I looked at him. “You used to be so stubborn, my dear son. After all of this time on Earth though, it seems those tendencies straightened out.”

There was still quiet. I was wanting him to say something, yet if he didn’t speak I wasn’t going to pressure him. “So what are you here for, if you don’t mind me asking?” I asked him. “Do you want some guidance as the new Head Cupid? Or are you after a place to stay?” Perhaps he wanted to apologise, yet I wouldn’t say that out loud.

“Actually I was here to talk to my brother.” He answered, his hands crossed themselves over his chest. The determined expression that was familiar to me, that felt even homely to me.
“Tommy? Yes. He should be in his room.” I explained, and I was slightly shocked about the fact that that was all he was here for.

“Good. He should be expecting me… we’ve talked on the phone.” The pink haired man walked right past me, taking the opportunity to swat me with his wings. I liked to think that he had done that by accident, but knowing him that wasn’t the case.
“Talked about what?” I asked, attempting to follow after him.

He didn’t say anything, ignoring me as though I wasn’t there. One of his hands reached up and hit the door with the back of his hand. “Tommy, your cooler brother has returned.” The voice was sly, monotone, full of both malice and care. A few seconds passed and we could both sense the buzzing of excitement from behind it.

When the door was thrown open I was met with the shocking sight of my younger son with a bright glowing grin on his face. In his hands he clutched a human briefcase, something which surprised me as his fingers dug into the leather handle.

If he hadn’t been holding the suitcase I’m sure that he would have enveloped Techno in a rough hug. That would have probably resulted in Techno ripping the younger blond off, but he did nothing. “Are you ready to go?” Techno asked, his head tilting to this side and eyes notably glowing into a much brighter red.

“I am.” He responded with a nod, a smile on his face. “I’m looking forward to it.”
“Wait…” I was surprised, looking from one to another. “What exactly is going on?”
