I actually managed to drag out a guy buying and eating breakfast into three chapters.

Dream POV.

“George.” My hand continued to brush along the side of his face and through his hair. “You need to wake up. It is breakfast time.” I listened to him as he groaned, rolling over and tangling himself up under blankets that surrounded him. “It’s breakfast time, remember that you ordered us breakfast?”

Slowly his eyes fluttered open, and seeing him like that I found myself falling in love with him all over again. He was just so beautiful like this, with the innocence and glow of the sunrise in the morning. The light flitted in from the window to embrace him in a glow of beauty that I couldn’t simply explain.

“What time is it?” He groaned, rubbing his eyes as he sat up. “God, I still feel so damn tired.” I continued to smile as I moved to hesitantly cup his cheek, watching him smile against it in response. “Dream… what time is it?” The brunette asked again.
“About half past eight.” I told him.

He gave a wary, exhausted nod, then suddenly remembered something and jolted wide awake, clutching at the couch with firm fingers. “What about the food?” He asked. “Has it been delivered yet?” He questioned, he stood himself up, with the blanket falling away. Not that he cared, merely kicking it off of him but I went to hold his shoulder.

“It’s been delivered.” I reassured him. “All of it is set up on the table and we are just waiting for you.” In a moment of boldness my arm wrapped around his waist to lead him out of the room. Much to my surprise and pleasure he allowed me to walk him out, tiredly leaning into me with me smiling proudly the whole time.

I noticed as I walked a figure in the doorway, watching the two of us. It was Karl with a smile on his face as he studied us. That made me concerned, the grin that I had fell away and I lowered my face to the ground.

The fact that he had seen us was a good thing. It showed off to the angel that the guy who had a crush on him was now accepting comfort and affection from me. Karl didn’t say anything as he slunk away and I continued walking, hands securely on his waist to show off to anybody else in the room who doubted our relationship. Until George’s body twisted away from my grasp.

He walked away to the table, seeming happy about all of the food that was available to eat. “Thank you so much.” I announced loudly to the whole group. “George, it was so kind of you to organise this breakfast for us.” I admired him fondly.

“Dream you didn’t need to thank me.” His voice was hushed, adorable, something that I desperately wanted to hear him say again.
“Of course I do. You were so sweet to think of ordering breakfast, especially after everything that happened last night.”

“Yes, thank you George.” Karl smiled, moving to the table. Everyone followed my lead, giving small thanks to the brunette before beginning to plate up the food he ordered. The brunette was smiling proudly as all five of us dished up our meals before setting ourselves down around the room. Other than the earlier ‘thanks’ not a word was spoken.

We were all eating slowly, waiting cautiously for the conversation that was going to happen after breakfast. Most of us didn't have a wink of sleep, with the exception of Techno. All of us had just been thinking about what was going to happen, and perhaps we were overreacting but still it was smart to be precautious.

I was sitting across the room from angels who were eating bacon as though their mere existence didn't go against science. Unless they were a byproduct of a God's creation, which in itself seemed unlikely as Techno was a major atheist. Perhaps it was an act though, which made me question how much of the pinkette was genuine.

"Are you okay?" George asked, picking at his food from beside me. "Nervous?"
"About the talk? Not really." I admitted. "I am more just… annoyed… confused. Betrayed feels like too strong of a word. I just want to figure out why there are three angels have come to stay with us." He nodded thoughtfully, chewing some bacon.

My plate had been cleared. I didn't say anything as I stared over at the angels. None of them paid any mind to me. It was only when a head moved to rest on my shoulder that I turned back in to what was happening beside me.

"George." My breath hitched, feeling his fluffy brown hair against my skin. A blush began running up my face and I couldn't help but inhale the attractive scent of his shampoo. No verbal response was given, only a hum as he leaned further into me and my blush continued to deepen.

Once again Karl looked over towards me. Swirling pools of grey deep against the forest pits of my own, attempting to collide in a stare but inside the fog of his eyes drilled past and through to my soul. Perhaps it was a power that angels had, to see into souls. I couldn't be completely sure.

All that I knew was that he was aware of how I was thinking, but he wasn’t caring about it. And in that one moment, the moment where he showed no anger or annoyance or anything, all of my feelings towards him dissipated. There was no more hostility since it seemed as though he no longer shared any love for George.

“Are you still tired?” I asked him. My hands continued to hold him closely. There was a meek nod. “You are adorable.” I made sure to point out. He finished his plate and moved it off of his lap, then without looking his hand slipped over to mine. The two of us didn’t acknowledge it at all, holding one another with our hands.

Karl knew this. He knew what it was that the two of us were doing, yet he didn’t say anything. My gaze lowered itself, and I turned my head so that my lips were close to his ear. “This is going to be a difficult conversation, isn’t it?” I asked him. The brunette was confused but he glanced over and nodded.

“Of course it is.” He whispered. “But I’m thankful that you are here so I don’t have to deal with it alone.” I continued to smile, repeating my own similar phrase to him, but I added something on.
“And George... whatever hapenn… I-uh love you.” His eyes widened and he turned to look at me.
“Dream?” He questioned. I didn’t say anything else, and after a moment he continued.
