"Katsu!" You yelled, "look at your hands!" There were tiny explosions flying out from his hands.

"Woah," Katsuki said in amazement. "It's your quirk! It's your quirk isn't it?" Midoriya exclaimed in excitement. "Isn't it cool, Izuku?"

Bakugou was the first one of your class to get his quirk. All the teachers, parents and your classmates would praise him and tell him that he was destined for great things. He became more confident about his dream of becoming the No. 1 hero. But as time passed, the words of everyone around him constantly telling him how strong his quirk was made him cocky and overconfident.

"Let's play Kacchan!" Midoriya would say, excited. "I don't play with quirkless idiots like you!" Bakugou would snarl at his friend.

"Don't talk to Izuku like that!" You would stand up for him. "But hes quirkless Y/N! He's not like us. He's useless. He can't do anything. Deku!" Bakugou sneered.

This filled you with rage. You weren't particularly close with Midoriya but you weren't quite fond of how Bakugou was starting to behave. You used your quirk, and threw him into the water. You could control elements of the weather. That was your quirk. It had his limitations, of course, but it was a strong quirk. At the age of 4, however, all you could do was summon a couple gusts of wind, strong enough though, to throw Bakugou into a shallow stream nearby.

"Kacchan!" Izuku exclaimed as he rolled up the cuffs of his pants, getting into the dirty stream to offer Bakugou a hand to help him to his feet.

This action somehow did not sit well with Bakugou. "Get away from me, DEKU." He lashed out.

Bakugou's change in attitude was obvious to everyone. He was special. He had more potential. He was destined to become a great hero. To him, he was greater than anyone else. Everyone, but you.

He acted superior to everybody, but he respected you. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that the two of you were together for 90% of the day. Maybe he genuinely felt affection for you. Maybe he thought of you as family. Maybe he thought your quirk was actually powerful and acknowledged you for it. You didn't know.

What you did know was that he was your best friend, and even though he would show his superiority complex to everyone, he was genuine with you. He was the real Bakugou. He was kind. He would care about you. He wasn't the rude, cocky brat everyone thought he was. And that's all you really cared about.

The two of you were attached by the hip. The two of you would make up rumours about how kids would go missing from the park so that others would leave the two of you alone to play in the sandpit at the park. The children would run away sobbing, snot running down their noses, yelling about how the villains were coming to get them only helping you spread the rumour around.

The two of you were always at the top of your class and even the first to get their quirks.

You two were inseparable.

Your family was an ordinary one. Both your parents worked alongside the Bakugous in the fashion industry. Your father's quirk was that he could make it rain while your mother and older brother were quirkless. You, somehow, inherited this incredibly powerful quirk. It was mystery really.

That day, it was raining heavily. You and your family were in a car, travelling back home from a restaurant. You pleaded with your parents to buy you some ice cream but they had refused. Treading through the almost flooded streets to get to a convenience store was not possible in this weather.

Now you were pouting, leaning against the window, cross with both your parents refusing to say a single word to either of them.

"Hey, Y/N! Cheer up!" Your brother tried to console you. "I'll buy you some ice cream tomorrow." Your eyes lit up and you beamed back at him "Really? You promise?" "Mmhm. I promise," he laughed at your sudden change in attitude.

Now, satisfied with your brother's reply, you let the exhaustion catch up and you and your eyes started to close and you fell asleep within seconds.

The next time you woke up, you were in a hospital, attached to a bunch of blinking machines. Huh. Why were you there? Where were your parents? What was going on?

It was then, when you found out. They had passed. All three of them. Somehow, you were the only one who had survived the crash escaping with only a few bruises.

Your grandmother, the only living blood relative you had left, decided to take you in. You vaguely remembered the Bakugous offering to adopt you instead but it was all so hazy and the pain had made you too numb.

Without getting a say, you left the city with your grandmother, without saying a word to your friends, teachers or anyone. Not even Bakugou.
