Him Again (Bakugou Katsuki x Reader)

50. They Failed?

Katsuki was getting beyond pissed. The exam had begun and the damn nerd, Deku, was spouting nonsense about how the whole class should move as a unit. To make it worse, you were agreeing with everything he was saying.

He scoffed and walked off with Kirishima tailing behind him. He didn't really mind though. Kirishima was tolerable to Katsuki. One might even call him his friend. All he needed was for you to join and he heard footsteps behind him. He had hoped it was you but Kaminari followed instead. He rolled his eyes. Just great!

The fight was going pretty well. You and Midoriya were basically leading the class. You were knocking candidates out left and right until...you felt tremors in the distance.

You glanced upwards and your jaw dropped. It was that Inas-whatever guy. He was creating a whirlwind of sorts, taking out a bunch of students at once . He hadn't been lying after all. His quirk was a lot like yours.

He was the first one to pass. He had taken 120 students out alone. You couldn't believe it. He winked when he saw you gaping at him and walked off.

You were more determined than ever to finish the examination quickly. Inasa walking out of there with a quirk similar to yours so quickly while you were barely getting started was like a slap in the face.

Midoriya seemed to be facing a few difficulties from his end with a girl who was.....naked?... it seemed, but everything ran smoothly.

You crossed the finish line with Midoriya, Uraraka and Sero. But before you could celebrate, you ran into Kirishima, Kaminari and ....Katsuki. You rolled your eyes when you saw him.

They joined the group and him and Izuku seemed to be talking about something. "....-borrowed power." You overheard the last part of what Katsuki was saying. Midoriya had a look of dread on his face.

"Y/N... Do you think he knows?"
"What? Why would you think that? Don't worry he won't figure it out."

You made your way down the hallway but then Katsuki began walking up to you with guilt written all over his face. "Y/N. Can we talk?" You did not want to talk to him. 

"I have nothing to say to you."
"Y/N. I swear I didn't mean to say that....I-" Kirishima's words echoed in his head. You gotta express your affection with words!
"I do want to sleep with you." He blurted out. Your jaw dropped and both your faces turned scarlet. "Th-Thats uh.....-"

Just then you noticed Todoroki and Momo already seated in the anteroom. You rushed to them before Katsuki could say anything. You knew he probably didn't mean to call you gross, but it still stung. The way he made you feel didn't sit right with you. You were going to forgive him eventually especially since it was a huge deal for Katsuki to make an effort to talk about it but you were still pissed off at the moment what he had just said had made it really awkward between you two.

The next phase of the exam was about to begin. The students tasked with rescuing the members of the 'Help Us Company'. You rolled your eyes. This was going to be so stressful.

Just then Inasa walked up to you and Todoroki, with w harsh glare on his face. "You're Endeavor's kid." He made it clear he didn't like Todoroki one bit.

But when he saw you, he gave you a toothy grin. "So did you make up your mind about getting dinner with me, say tomorrow?"

".....okay." You said. He smiled at you. Unbeknownst to you, Katsuki was eavsdropping on your conversation. He felt his heart shatter. He walked away.

"But it's not a date." You clarified. "We can meet up and talk about our quirks." He looked a little disappointed but smiled again. "Fine with me!" But Katuski didn't hear that.

The exam begun. You ran over to an old lady with a walker who was trapped under some debris. "Hold on! I'll get you out of there!" You said and began clearing the debris with your quirk. But the old lady's expression did a complete 180 and she glared at you, pissed and yelled "Theres no time to comfort me while the debris is killing my lungs! You're losing points for that!"

You flinched at her sudden change in demeanor and almost dropped the debris back on top of her again. What the fuck was this lady on?

But it seemed like all the victims were that way. A little boy seemed to be lecturing Midoriya too. You sweat dropped at the situation.

You glanced at Katsuki in the distance with Kirishima. He was probably having a tough time if the rescue members were telling him to be kinder or how to talk to them.

Just then villains appeared. You and Todoroki attempted to hold them off while Midoriya and the others evacuated the victims.

Todoroki noticed that Inasa was around and asked him to help. Inasa didn't seem to be getting along with Todoroki very well and refused. The two of them argued and ended up attacking each other.

"Stop it, the two of you! Insasa, we need help with holding the villains off." Inasa's expression changed when he noticed you. He shot you a grin and decided to join forces with you.

The test went smoothly and ended soon after.

A board displayed the names of the students who had passed. You were relieved to see your name was there.

You glanced at Todoroki and Inasa who were next to you. They seemed distraught. "What's wrong?"

"I....failed." Todoroki said. Your jaw dropped. Inasa had failed too. He banged his head on the ground as he had done before and began apologising to Todoroki, blaming himself for his failure. You glanced over at Katsuki. He looked shocked too. You searched for his name in the list but it wasn't there. He had failed as well.

Two of the top students in your class had failed. You were mad at Katsuki but you decided to put it aside and go over to comfort him. Knowing him, you were sure he was taking the failure really hard.

"Katsu...." You began, putting an arm on his shoulder. "It's okay. The exam was shitty anyway." But he shrugged it off and looked away. "Why don't you go comfort your new boyfriend?"

He walked off, leaving you confused.
