72. Escape

You sighed. "I'm not going to run away, you know." You said to Marlo and Shigaraki who were eyeing you suspiciously.

"Shut it, bitch!" Marlo said and nudged you forward with his sheathed blade. "Ow!" You complained.

"HEY!" Roscoe's head immediately whipped around. "She's one of us now! Stop treating her like some kind of hero!" She said and interlocked her arm with yours.

"I would have run away long ago if I wanted to. I'm here to join you guys, for real." You said but Dabi scoffed.

"Tsk." Toga said. "Come on, Y/N. Let's just speed up." She held your other hand and led you ahead of the group.

"So.... Roscoe. What's your quirk?" You asked.
"I'll show you." She said and stretched out her hand. Her skin began deforming and before you knew it, her arm turned into some kind of pistol.

"Cool, right?" She said as she retracted the gun.
"And.... What's Stupor's? What's his deal? I mean where did he get it from?" You asked.
"I'm not really sure what his life was like before he became this way. This other villain-Dr. Garaki combined a few quirks and gave him his quirk." She said.

"Oh. So what's the plan now? What's the next big thing we're going to do?"
Roscoe leaned in closer. "We're going to have a meeting at Marlo's again in two days to discuss the plan....We're not supposed to know about this yet but there's somebody.... She means something to Stupor i think in Hosu ci-"
"Roscoe!" Stupor hissed from a few meters behind.

She immediately stopped talking. You raised an eyebrow. Everybody seemed to be so terrified of Stupor for some reason. They followed every order he spat like dogs. You wondered why.

"What?" You asked him. Stupor stopped dead in his tracks and glared at you then he chuckled darkly. "If you think that pretending like you want to join us will make me change my mind about slaughtering you, think again. I would stop at nothing to get my revenge. So stop your fucking act right now."

He raised his arm and began to activate his quirk. "Any last words?"

You took a few steps away from them and smirked. "It's a little too late for that." You said.
"Wh-What? Y/N!?" Roscoe looked at you, betrayal flashing in her eyes.

"You're cornered." He said but you just pointed up at the sky.
"Think again. You're the one that's cornered, Nico."

Stupor's head panned upwards. There were mini whirls forming in the sky. While the villains were distracted, you had used the time to ambush them and set up a trap.

Before the villains knew what was going on, lightning flashed right onto Stupor who was immediately thrown backwards. You wasted no time and immediately made a run for it. You weren't far from UA. You could make it.

Roscoe aimed her arm at you and began shooting bullets from it. Within a second, she was knocked down by small tornadoes that came crashing into the ground, pulling all the villains into them.

You had about three seconds to run before they came to their senses and you didn't need to be told twice. Without taking a single look behind, you sprinted all the way back into UA.

"Oh my god!" You huffed as you threw yourself on the couch in the common room and slipped on some water. You couldn't believe what you had just pulled off.

You glanced at the clock. It was almost 5 am. You let out a nervous chuckle but you were quickly interrupted by a voice. "What are you doing here?"

"AH- Oh, hey Shoto..." You said, jumping a little. "I was just.... thirsty."

He narrowed his eyes. "No you're not." He said. You poured yourself a much needed glass of water. He took a step closer. "I saw you sneaking into school."

You choked on your water. "W-What- No that wasn't-" you scrambled to make excuses but he interrupted you.

"Y/N." His heterochromic eyes were fixed in a skeptical glare. "I thought I heard a storm. I snuck out of the school to investigate. But it was you."

"....It's been a long day, Shoto.... Let's just go to bed." You said as you tried to slip past him. But he grabbed your wrist. "Tell me what happened. I saw you. With them." He said.

Your head snapped in his direction, as your eyes widened. "I saw you with him...... With Stupor." He said.

Your breath hitched. You snatched your wrist from his hand. "How do you know that name?" Your heart was beating faster than ever. Your palms were shaking. Did he know? No. There was no way.

To your surprise, his expression contorted into something else. Guilt. "Y/N. You can tell me what happened. I know."

"What do you know?" You asked him.
"Everything. Your mom, your brother being a villain...."

Your hand cupped your mouth. "Oh god... How... How long have you known?"
"That's not important. Tell me what happened."

You knew it was useless to hide it from him. You told him everything about what had happened.

His eyes were nearly bulging by the time you finished. ".....So Inasa is dead?"

You nodded solemnly. "Don't feel any sympathy. He was a villain. He was helping them." You said and Shoto slowly nodded in agreement.

"This is crazy... It's impressive how you managed to escape from them. That's incredible." He said, smiling at you. He stared into your eyes and held your gaze for too long.

You cleared your throat. "Well?" You raised an eyebrow. But he just stared at you in confusion. "Are you going to tell me how the heck you know about all of this? Why didn't you tell me?" You had so many questions.

Shoto looked guilty again. "I.....I think it would be better to just show you." He said.
"Show me what?"
".....I shouldn't be talking to you about this. If you want to know more, you can take it up with my father."

You stared up at him, dumbstruck. "You're father knows about this? The number one hero, Endeavor, knows?"

Shoto nodded. "I really should get going now....." He said and hurried out of the common room before you could grill him with any more questions.
