Him Again (Bakugou Katsuki x Reader)

37. The Finals

It was the day of the finals. You were extremely nervous especially since you had missed so much due to your health.

But surprisingly, the exam went well. You exited the examination room. "THAT WAS SO BAD Y/N! IM FAILING!" Mina cried running over to hug you.

"Oh it's alright, Mina. I'm sure you'll do well." You comforted, patting her on the head.

"I bet I aced the exam!" Kaminari's voice boomed. "I can't believe it was bad for you, Mina!"

"Shut it, Sparky!" Katsuki yelled. "You're being too damn loud."
Says you! You wanted to scream but you just resorted to glaring at him. He scowled back.

You continued talking to Mina and he just stood there burning holes into your soul with his ruby eyes. What does he want? You wondered. You stared back and saw him kicking his feet.

Oh. He wanted to walk back home with you. You said goodbye to Mina and left with him, walking back in total silence.

The next day was the practical exam day. Aizawa announced that all the people who would fail any half of the exam would not be allowed to join the rest of the class at a camp that would be held soon.

"You will be paired up." Aizawa said. The whole class groaned. "Like the festival wasnt enough!" Sero whined.

"-And your opponent will be the teachers of UA." Your jaw dropped. I'm doomed. You thought to yourself. You were beyond terrified.

He began announcing the pairings. ".....Bakugou Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku...." You were in shock. You didn't know whether to laugh or cry. You looked over at Katsuki who seemed to be just about ready to burst.

"....and lastly. Y/N. You will be alone." What do you mean alone? I'm so doomed. You almost laughed at the situation.

And with that, the exam commenced.

You watched as your classmates fought against the teachers. Todoroki and Momo won against Aizawa. Tokoyami and Tsuyu got passed Ectoplasm.

Then came your turn. You almost had a heart attack and passed away right thete when you saw Hawks entering the battlefield. I am dead. Very dead.

"How's it going, baby bird?" Hawks said. And the battle began.

Right away, you made your way into the alleyways, steering clear of Hawks' vision. Why on earth was Hawks even there to begin with. He was not even a teacher at UA!

You needed a plan. But before you had any time to think, Hawks found you. He dove towards you and you got away just in time.

But to your horror, he struck again, delivering a blow to your back. You tried to fight back, but you knew you were no match for Hawks.

You used your quirk while he was in the air to ram him into the ground but it didn't work quite like it did with others. Hawks was too strong.

You tried to run towards the finished line but Hawks kept pushing you backwards, landing painful blows.

An idea popped into your head. You stood still for a second, letting Hawks dive towards you. But before he struck, you summoned a cloud and smacked Hawks' face with it, blinding him.

You then began sprinting towards the finish line, summoning more clouds, making it pour on Hawks, blinding him, shocking him, slowing him down.

He finally recovered though and charged towards you. But at the last second, you flew upwards with such a great velocity that you rammed into Hawks' body, catching him offguard.

Thanks for teaching me that. You thought, smirking. Falling from a height of 100 feet and being able to lift yourself upwards had made it possible for you to land that blow.

You summed a gust of wind and pushed Hawks further backwards in his weakened state. You used the gained time to fly towards the finish line at the speed of light and cross it, winning you the battle.

"THAT WAS FREAKING AWESOME Y/N!" Mina hugged you when she saw you. Katsuki walked up to you. He made a disgusted face at you and rolled his eyes. You did the same in return since that was your way of communicating now.

"That was a great battle Y/N. You did well." Todoroki said. "Thanks, Todoroki!" You beamed, making Katsuki scoff for real this time and look away again.

You heard a chuckle. "Well done, Y/N." It was Hawks. "You've grown even stronger. Let me treat you and Tokoyami to lunch sometime and catch up."

"Hawks!" You greeted your mentor. "That sounds great!" A special bond had grown between you and Hawks over the past few weeks. He had been such a brilliant mentor to you.

"Do you eat chicken? I know a good place."
You laughed. "Do you eat chicken?"
"Ofcourse I do. It's a crime not to."
"Isn't that cannibalism?"
"I'm a majestic Hawk. Not a chicken!" He sounded offended. You laughed at him but before you could continue the conversation, Katsuki's match was starting.

Your smirk was immediately wiped off and your eyes almost popped out of their sockets. All Might was their opponent.

This was going to be awful.

Before the fight even began, you could see Midoriya and Katsuki arguing with each other.

They were arguing even when the battle began. And you were getting worried for them. Katsuki pushed Midoriya onto the ground and was yelling at him.

Just then All Might appeared out of nowhere and threw a punch, causing the entire area to crumble.

Katsuki tried to distract All Might and charged at him but the Symbol of Peace was too strong. He slammed Katsuki into the ground.

What is he thinking? Why is he trying to take All Might on? You wanted to scream at him to run. All Might was hurting him really bad with his attacks.

You could just watch as Midoriya and Katsuki went at it, trying to do some damage to All Might who was completely unfazed and kept delivering punches.

Then All Might pinned Midoriya onto the ground and delivered a fatal blow to Katsuki's stomach, sending him flying backwards into the buildings behind.

You resisted the urge to get in there yourself and punch All Might in the face for that hit. You were in utter disbelief as you watched as Katsuki was still trying to stand up. But before All Might could touch him, Midoriya charged up to him and heaved Katsuki out of the way.

All Might caught up to them and smashed Katsuki with his foot who recovered quickly and blasted Midoriya in the direction of the finish line. But All Might stopped him.

You were heavily concerned but you were also proud of Katsuki for finally understanding and cooperating with Midoriya. Katsuki tried to hold All Might off but Midoriya rushed back to him and grabbed the unconscious Katsuki, crossing the finish line with him.
