You began to soar into the sky. You felt the wind in your hair.... it was such a familiar feeling. You closed your eyes to soak it in as the breeze lifted you higher and higher until....... It just stopped. What?

You began taking a nose dive towards the ground from about 20 feet into the air. Katsuki quickly rushed forward and caught you just before you could make contact with the ground.

"What the fuck?" You said, confused. What was happening? After weeks of pure torture, after losing your quirk, you thought you had finally got it back only for it to be.. gone again. It felt inlike a sadistic joke. You had just been given a taste of having your quirk back for a few seconds before it was cruelly ripped out of your hands.

"You okay?" Katsuki asked, setting you back down. "What was that?"

"I-I dont know! I thought- I thought it was back! What happened?" You yelled in frustration as you tried to summon a gust of wind, only to fail miserably. "I-Why isn't it working? The- Fuck-!"

"Y/N!" He said, gripping your wrist, making you stop. "Calm down. It's fine, just- Woah!"

Hw stumbled backwards a little. You had nudged him slightly. But not with your hand. It was the wind.

You were beyond confused. Was your quirk back or not? What the fuck was going on?

"It's sort of back."
"What do you mean sort of?"
"It's coming and going in spurts, baby bird."

"Okay....W-what do i do about it now?" You asked, worried.
"Don't stress it, birdie. This is good news. With the right amount of training, you'll be able to become a hero. I'm sure of it." Hawks smiled reassuringly.
"How do you know?"

"I just do. I believe in you. You'll get it back."
You half heartedly smiled back.

"Tell you what. I'll take you and Tokoyami with me on a mission."
"What good is that going to do?" You said, knowing he was just taking you along to raise your spirits.

"Who knows?" He shrugged. "Maybe it'll help you get your quirk back completely."
You sighed. "It's worth a shot, I suppose..."

"I have other commitments that day, Hawks. I won't be able to make it. I'm very sorry." Tokoyami said looking at him with guilt.

You could see Hawks' jaw viably drop as his he developed a betrayed expression. Oh no. You face palmed.

"Commitments?" He began. You heavily regretted coming with him to ask Tokoyami about accompanying you.

"You put these commitments over me?" He began sobbing, dramatically. "I see how it is! My own baby bird! My fledg-"

"My grandfather is very sick and hospitalized, Hawks." He said.

Hawks' demeanor drastically did a 180. "O-Oh!" He began again.

Just then Bakugou walked into the common room. "Hey, Y/N- Oh." He noticed the pro hero seated there.

An idea popped into your mind. "Hey, Hawks! Can we take Bakugou with us?"

Hawks narrowed his eyes. Although he wasn't particularly fond of the hot headed boy, he was only doing the mission for you. And if taking Bakugou along would help you, then...
"Why not?" He said.

"Keigo. Where exactly are we going?"
"The mountains."

You rolled your eyes. He had been saying that for the past hour. You sighed and continued to trek up the 'mountains.'

"We've already reached the mountains, spoonbill." Katsuki snarked.

"Not the mountains I'm talking ab-" Hawks had to do a double take. "S-Spoonbill?" He huffed, clearly taken aback. He surely did not like the boy.

"Katuski!" You elbowed him.
"Ow." He nudged you back. You retorted by pushing him back and he tripped you. Hawks face palmed. Why did he think it was a good idea to bring two kids with him?

After an hour of trekking, Hawks finally halted to a stop. You felt relieved. You were beyond exhausted. But when you looked around, your joy faded quickly. You were in the middle of nowhere. It was just a small plateau with snow everywhere.

"Why.....Why do you have a mission here?" You asked.
"You'll see." He gave you a lopsided grin. "It's almost dusk. Bakugou! Help me set up the tent!"

You stared into the sunset, lost in thought. What had your life come to? You weren't even sure if you could accomplish your dream of becoming a hero. Would your quirk ever come back completely? You were utterly miserable.

"Hey." Katsuki said, taking a seat next to you, pulling you out of your thoughts. He locked his fingers between yours and grinned at you. A warm, reassuring smile that had comforted you so many times. But there was a glint of worry in them.

Ever since the incident, you had noticed small changes in him. His gaze would linger a little longer. His hands would wrap around yours more often. He was always around. Now that you thought about it, there weren't many times you found yourself alone at all. Katsuki was always there. He never let you be alone with your dark taunting thoughts. You were so thankful for him. You didn't know how you would have got through this without him. It was like he was almost scared of leaving you alone.

He couldn't risk losing you again. He was terrified when he lost you. It was something he had never felt before....To feel so utterly helpless. He had never cared about someone so much. He didn't know what to do with himself when you were gone. He could never afford to go through something like that ever again.

"The damn spoonbill made me do all the work." He grumbled and motioned towards the tents. You chuckled at the crude nickname. He wrapped his arm around you and abruptly pulled you close

"-mmph!" Your laugh was interrupted by his lips. You quickly pushed him away. "Are you crazy? What if Keigo sees?"
"He won't. The damn pigeon's gone flying off to somewhere." He breathed and leaned down to kiss you again. You melted into the kiss. His lips felt dangerously good against yours.

When you finally pulled away from the kiss he pulled you back into a hug and buried his face into your neck breathing in your scent. "What is up with you today?" You chuckled as you hugged him back, surprised at his display of affection. But you weren't complaining.
"Shut up. It's just cold." He said.
"Your quirk literally keeps your body hot all the damn time."
"That mean you find me hot?" He smirked.
"Of course I do! You're my boyfriend!"
"You're a simp."
"Haah?"

You smacked his shoulder. "Ow!" He hissed. Fuck. His injury.
"Crap. I'm sorry!..... Wait isn't it on your other shoulder?"
"......" He tried to mask a smile that crept onto his face.
"Katsuki!" You smacked his other shoulder this time.
"OUCH!" He hissed in pain for real this time.
"Oh shoot-....oops!"
"Oops? Oops you say?"
You giggled in response and put your arms around him again. "Katsu~" You sweetly sung his name, making his heart go soft.
"..... Don't 'Katsu' me!" He scolded, but he hugged you back anyway, his face completely scarlet in colour.

For the first time, you found yourself actually laughing. A whole hearted laugh. Tenko, Nico, your parents, your quirk... None of it was on your mind for once. You laughed a carefree laugh, something you hadn't done in a long time.
