Him Again (Bakugou Katsuki x Reader)

64. Mission Gone Wrong

You crouched down and ducked behind a bush. "What now?" You whispered to Hawks.

You were at a villains' hideout. Hawks' mission was to retrieve some classified 'goods'. The place you were camping at was quite far away from the hideout.

"Now nothing. I'll go inside, retrieve the goods and come back. You two stay here on guard. If you see anything suspicious, tell me." He handed the two of you ear pieces. "If something goes wrong evacuate immediately when I tell you to. No questions asked."
"What the fuck? That's so boring!" Katuski grumbled. "I'm coming with you inside."
"No, Bakugou. Stay here and protect Y/N. You'll be the first person I call for back-up, okay?"

And with that, he took off, somewhat satisfying Katsuki with being Hawks' first back-up option. You sweat dropped. Of course Katsuki was going to be his number one back up plan. Your quirk couldn't be trusted to work and there was no one else. But Katuski seemed to be swelling with pride so you let his ego thrive.

You stayed on the look out with Katuski for a solid 3 minutes until you heard aloud. explosion and alarms began going off. "Hawks?" You called.
"We've been ambushed." He whispered frantically. "This is far worse than I thought. These are no ordinary villains. Retreat now! I'll handle the rest. Just get out of here. It's a member from the leag-!"

Hawks' earpiece was shattered as he felt a punch smash into the side of his face. A villain.
"Watch it! Not the face, man!" He whined as he quickly struck back and took the villain out.

All he felt was regret. He had made the biggest mistake ever by bringing you here. He severely underestimated the villains. He didn't think he would be there. It was going to be a challenge for him to get out of there alone. And to bring two teenage students along with him, one without a quirk, was the stupidest thing he could have possibly done. You and Katsuki woukd never stand a chance. Not against him.

But it was too late now. All he could do was pray and hope you and Katuski were okay.

Men in uniforms started surrounding the building and heading into the forest nearby which is exactly where you and Katsuki were hiding.

"Shit. Run!" Katuski hissed. You and Katuski got up and scurried out of there.

But it was too late. Someone had already spotted you. You heard him yell something to the other villains and they all began chasing after you. You just ran faster, not daring to look back.

Just then, you heard gunshots. "Why do these fuckturds have fucking guns?" Katsuki yelled as he sped up.

A bullet flew straight passed your head. Your eyes widened. If you had been running a few inches towards the right, you wouldn't have survived that shot.

After a while, it seemed like you had finally lost them. You and Katsuki looked at each other in relief. But the relief was quickly washed away when someone appeared right in front of you.

A villain. He was a 6 foot tall, well built man and he held a...... machete? in his hand. Oh great. You and Katsuki tried to flee but he would let you.

"Stay behind me!" Katsuki said, as he stepped in front of you. You hated this. You didn't want to be a burden for Katsuki to protect. But you knew there was no choice. You were physically much weaker than the body builder in front of you. Without your quirk, it would just be a hindrance for you to fight.

Katsuki launched himself at the villain and blasted him in the head. The villain took a swing at him but Katsuki swiftly dodged and went back to sending explosions straight for his head.

He rammed Katsuki into the ground. "No!" You were mad now. A gust of wind hit the villain and he flew backwards into a large tree, making it shake.

You thanked the lords that your quirk decided to work this time. "Good job." Katsuki said, clearly impressed while he got up. "Let's get out of here before the rest of them catch up."

You didn't need to be told twice. You turned around and began running off but- you and Katsuki stopped. Suddenly, the night sky seemed to get even darker. The darkness seemed to be able to suck your soul out. You were frozen in fear. You were unable to move.

"Y/N! Y/N!" Katsuki tried to snap you out of it. "We gotta go!" But you didn't seem to be listening. This feeling was all too familiar. Katsuki grabbed your arm. There was no time to waste. He began leading you towards the camp but-

He too froze in fear. He could laughter. Like that of an awful monster. It sounded so menacingly evil. He whipped around. He couldn't believe it.

It was him. The sludge monster. Except it was.... White? Be rational, Katsuki. He thought to himself. The sludge villain was gone. It couldn't be there. But then what was in front of him....? And why was it glowing? His breathing picked up. It's not real. Its not real. It's not real. He kept repeating the sentence in his head like a chant.

He reaching for your hand for support but... It wasn't there. You had been right behind him a minute ago... He turned around. You weren't behind him anymore.

You were standing a few meters away staring at another glowy figure of a man... "Y/N!" He called out to you. But you didn't respond. It seemed like you were almost in a trans. He tried running towards you but the sludge villain put himself in between, and roared at him. It was the most vile thing he had ever seen.

He froze. He didn't know what to do. He needed to get to you and fast. But how was he supposed to do that with the sludge villain in front of him? He knew it wasn't a difficult task for him to take it down. He definitely had the strength. But it felt like he couldn't move.

Everytime he looked at it, dread filled his chest and kept him paralysed in his spot "You!" He called out to the man in front of you. "Who the fuck do you think you are?"

The man who had been staring straight at you suddenly snapped his head in Katsuki's direction. A menacing grin grew on his face, sending chills down Katsuki's spine.

"Don't you recognise me, Katsu?" He asked. Katsuki's heart stopped. There was no way. It couldn't be... Nico. He put two and two together.

"Nic-Stupor?" He asked. Stupor's smile dropped and so did Katsuki's heart along with it. "That's right...." He smirked again. "Our Y/N seems to have told you about me.... Isn't that right, Y/N?" He forcefully grabbed your chin and tilted it towards him.

You whimpered. Katsuki's eyes grew wide. Tears were streaming down your face uncontrollably. You were paralysed in pure fear. Rage filled his chest as he recalled everything Stupor had made you go through.

He yelled out and charged towards you but once again, the sludge villain stopped him. "Not so fast, Katsu~" Stupor sing songed. This time, it attacked his side and began trying to engulf him. He thankfully got away quickly though.

But the damage had been done. Terror was consuming him even though the sludge hadn't. He didn't know what to do.

Stupor cackled as he put his arm around you, threateningly. "What will it be, hero?" He asked and all Katsuki could do was watch while you tried your hardest to grab at Stupor's arm which was tightening around you which was starting to really hurt you now. But it was useless. "Give up, Katsu. Just let her go."
