Him Again (Bakugou Katsuki x Reader)

5. Friends

"Y/N!" Boomed a voice, startling you, resulting in the coffee in your hand making contact with the counter top, staining the hardwood.

"O-oops! Im sorry!" You apologised as you began cleaning the counter with a cloth as your boss cussed you out.

He had no reason to yell your name really, he just assumed that if he yelled at all his employees, they would respect him more. He reminded you more of a villain than most real villains ever did.

"Ass." You mumbled under your breath as you served the customer another cup, who stifled a laugh at your words.

He gave you a warm smile as he started sipping his coffee. He was a regular customer. You glanced at his overly calloused hands, wondering where he got all those scars from. He was writing some kind of book intently, his green hair covering his emerald eyes. He looked kinda familiar.

One day, you peeped into his notebook, admiring his drawings. There was a page full of sketches of All Might. Your eyes glimmered. All Might was your favourite hero!

"Woah," you started a conversation with him "I love All Might! That drawing is so cool."

He looked up at you. His eyes gleamed too. "Yeah! Hes really cool, isn't he? He's the greatest hero ever." He said passionately.

"The way he selflessly runs into battle, saving lives, putting villians away. He's the perfect hero!" You babbled, agreeing with him.

The boy would visit often and the two of you would debate about the top heros and you thought you had kind of found a friend in him or an acquaintance at the least.

You had got much closer to Bakugou, over the span of the next few weeks.

His parents would call you over often and you would go for morning runs with him. Bakugou was always around, literally, since he was your neighbour, and the two of you became friends again.

You and Bakugou would go jogging together every morning. You could tell he judged you for singing along to pop music at the top of your lungs at the crack of dawn every morning. Just to annoy him further, you would sing even louder.

"SHUT UP Y/N" He yelled, only making you chirp louder into his ears. "You have a pathetic voice," he snarked, "the dying crows outside my window sound better."

"I am the dying crow outside your window." Somehow, that ticked him off even more. He yelled slapping his palms over both his ears, while continuing to run alongside you.

"Ha! You look like a chicken," you snorted.
"I bet it sings better than you!" He retorted, earning a smack from you.

And the two of you would continue to bicker as you made your way around the park.

There were only a few days left before UA began. You were ecstatic, and so was Bakugou.

"So many new extras to beat. I'm gonna show them just how inferior they are to me!" He cackled, with small explosions forming in his palms. The two of you were walking around near the swings at the park. "Ya right. I bet a lot of kids at UA are stronger than you. Like me." You challenged.

"Ha! You think you can beat me?" He retorted taking a step closer to you. "You're right. I dont think i can." You smirked. "I know i can."

He glared at you before gently shoving you onto the swings. "Hey that's cheating!" You rebutted. "Mmhm. Its not my fault you're weak as fuck." He cackled, ticking you off.

You shoved him back with your quirk , a little harsher than you intended sending him flying behind into the sandpit. He took a dive for the sand face first. "Oh sor-"

"BITCH!" He roared as his head rose from the mound of sand. His face was red- from the impact or from the rage- you weren't sure. He was coughing sand up from his mouth and nose.

The sight was too funny. You burst out laughing. You laughed so hard you lost balance and almost fell backwards, off the swing. "Ah!" You yelped, while trying to steady yourself.

"Ha! That's what you get!" He smirked wiping off the sand from his clothes and face. "Fuck off!" You yelled back.

Just then, you looked at the time and jumped up. Shit. Your shift.

"I have to go." You called out to Bakugou. "See you later!" You rushed out of the park.

He thought it was suspicious and wanted to pry but didnt have the opportunity to press since you were long gone so he begrudgingly let it go.
