"C'mon! You can do it, Eri!"

The girl let out an exasperated groan and you knew it was time to give up. "It's okay....." Mirio flashed her a sad smile.

You frowned. You could see the pain and disappointment on his face. You were currently sitting in Eri's room with Mirio. When Mirio found out that Eri's power had managed to get you your quirk back, although a small portion, he couldn't help but get his hopes up.

Eri tried many times but she just couldn't bring his quirk back. "I'm sorry...." Eri said with tears in her eyes when she glanced at Mirio's pained expression. "I'm of no use."

"No. No no, Eri!" Mirio put on a smile. "It's not your fault! Don't worry about it."

Mirio sighed after you walked outside. "This is bullshit..." He gritted his teeth. "No. Don't worry, we'll figure it out one of these days and you'll get your quirk back, I'm sure of it."

Mirio gave you a smile. "Yeah. You're right. Besides, you haven't got your quirk back completely anyway. What's the guarantee that I will?"

You pursed your lips. You didn't know how to tell him. You hadn't told anyone. The truth was, your quirk had completely returned after the fight with the villain. You could feel it back at the mountains too. The rush of power. It was almost as if something had snapped inside you when you hit rock bottom and everything had just come back.

"Yeah, exactly... don't stress it.' You couldn't tell Mirio. You didn't want to hurt the poor boy any more. So you just let it go.

And besides, you were having doubts of your own. Were you even fit to become a hero? If you couldn't even protect Katsuki, how would you ever protect others? You were begging to become a hero when you didn't have your quirk. But now that you had it back you weren't sure if you wanted to continue.

Being a hero didn't seem like the path you wanted to take anymore. Your brother was a villain. You were the reason for so many heroes' downfall. Nighteye, Mirio and almost Katsuki. You didn't know exactly when it was but somewhere along the line you had lost faith in yourself.

What was the point in becoming a hero? Maybe you would be better off becoming someone like Nico. At least he was making a difference in the world...

That afternoon, you were training with Katsuki. "Have you ever heard of 'going easy'?" You asked him with your face against the ground.

"Nope." He said and helped you up. "I don't have a quirk you know..." You whined. He eyed you suspiciously and you froze.

Did he know? You shook your head. There was no way. But he kept his gaze fixed. Your eyes widened. He knew.

"Y/N.... Do you really think you could lie to me and i wouldn't notice?" He started. "Why are you pretending?"
"I'm sorry." You said. "I don't know if i want to be a hero...."

His head snapped in your direction. "What?"
"I've been doing some thinking...." You said. "Maybe I'd be better off just... doing something else."
"What are you saying? Y/N, that's your dream!p I can't imagine you not becoming a-"
"No! What kind of hero am i? Everyone around me gets hurt because of my dream. What kind of a hero does that make me?"

He just stared at you, mouth agape, hurt flashing in his eyes.

You sighed. "Look... I've got to go right now. Let's talk later." You said and headed to the showers. You were planning to go back to your house. It had been a while since anyone had visited. The house probably needed some tending to.

You headed back home soon after. After everything had been taken care of, gou began walking back and took a look around. You passed by an ice cream shop. You recognised it as the place where Katsuki used to get chocolate ice cream from when you were mad at him

You smiled slightly as you glanced at it. But your eyes grew wide. What the hell? It was Katsuki. He was inside, having a cup of strawberry ice cream. But there were two bowls on the table.

A small smile crept onto your face. Did he somehow know that you were going to see him there? He probably wanted to make it up to you or ease the tension due to your prior argument. You began walking towards him but you froze.

You couldn't believe your eyes. What the fuck. A girl had taken a seat opposite him. She had long salmon hair pulled into a high ponytail and wore a revealing pink tank top. She wore a pair of brilliant diamond earrings that beautifully complemented her sleek eyes. You had to admit she was absolutely gorgeous.

Why was Katsuki with her? Why were they sharing ice cream? Was he- You shook your head and pushed the thoughts away. Surely you were overthinking this. They were just friends getting ice cream..... But Bakugou Katsuki didn't just 'get ice cream' with anyone.

There had to be a reasonable explanation. Before you could rationalise with yourself you saw something that made your heart shatter.

He had raised his hand and wiped some ice cream off of her lips. He then licked it right off his own finger just like he had done with you countless times. You were in shock. It couldn't be.

A million thoughts were rushing through your head. But none of them could possibly explain what you had just seen.

She took both his hands in his and gave them a squeeze. They both seemed to be giggling about something like high school girls. He raised her hand upto his face and gave it a peck.

There was no explanation. You had seen what you had seen. You couldn't watch this. Tears were threatening to pour. You couldn't face him. You turned around and ran all the way back to UA.

You slammed your door shut. You fell to the ground and broke down. You knew he wasn't worth your tears. But you couldn't help him. Why had he done this to you? Had everything been a lie? He had taken a bullet for you. Did that even mean anything? Was he just being a good hero? Did he ever even love you in the first place?

You felt like you had been slapped in the face. You loved him with your entire heart. You would've died for him. Did that mean nothing? You felt so betrayed. He cheated on you. He was a cheater. For the first time since you met Katsuki, you felt truly alone. He was everything to you. A best friend, a boyfriend, the love of your life- that didn't even cover it. He was the only thing that kept you going.

And he had betrayed you. He was a traitor. Was this the way Nico felt? Like a lousy second option? Like nothing he ever did would be enough for your parents to love him equally? To treat him right? That's surely how you felt.

Could you ever blame him for turning out the way he did? Was it wrong?
