Him Again (Bakugou Katsuki x Reader)

32. The Quarrel

You woke up in a hospital bed again. The bright lights of the room began to feel familiar to you.

Katsuki was sleeping next to you on a chair. He looked hilarious. It was even better in person. His hair was slicked back with hair gel.

You choked a laugh but hissed in pain. Bakugou woke up. "Y/N?" He said.
"Hi."
"How do you feel?"
"Like shit."
"Weren't you supposed to not die?"

You looked away, guilty. "I'm sorry. Iida needed help though."

He sighed and looked away. You were right. He wanted you to be safe but you were training to be a hero at the end of the day.

He helped you sit up. Just then, Mina, Kaminari and Sero walked in with flowers in their hands. They had come to meet you. They almost dropped them when they saw Bakugou.

"Seriously, Bakugou?" They said, laughing their heads off. "SHUT UP STOP LAUGHING I'LL KILL YOU!"

"I'd like to see you try, Side-part boy." Sero said, before they howled in laughter again.

Bakugou yelled and his hair popped back up, turning back to normal. Thank god. You hated that stupid hairstyle.

Just then, recovery girl walked in. "Are you aware that this is a hospital? Keep it down!"

"Sorry!" Mina said. "Y/N! I'm so glad you're feeling better!"
"Yeah, I can't believe Hawks let those villains get away after they did this to you!" Kirishima said.

"What vill-"
"Ah yes!" Recovery girl said. "It's unfortunate, but the pro heroes will handle it!" She glared at you.

Later that day, you were wheeled into Midoriya, Iida and Todoroki's room. Bakugou had reluctantly left at Gran Torino's request.

"What's happening?" You asked. Just then, Chief Tsuragamae walked in.

"Hero Killer, Stain has serious wounds and is being treated and detained right now. The four of you must be the UA students who brought him down. As you know, there are heavy restrictions implemented by police on using quirks to cause injury to others. Even against the hero killer, for uncertified individuals to cause injuries with their wiirks without supervision is a clear violation of rules." He said.

"The four of you along with pro heroes Endeavor, Manual, Gran Torino and Hawks must recieve heavy punishment."

"Wait a second." Todoroki spoke up. "If we haven't detained Stain, Native and Iida would have been killed! Are you saying we should have sat back and watched people get killed?"

"Well, that was the opinion of the police. But the punishment will only be implemented if it is made public. On the other hand, if it is not, Endeavor would be the one who took Stain down and you were get off without any punishment."

"Wait but some of our classmates know about it." You said, recalling that Kirishima, Mina and Sero had come to visit you.

"Well, Y/N that was because you were supposed to be doing an interview with me that night." Hawks said, walking in. "But since you didnt, I had to tell them you were injured from an attack."

You looked at him with overwhelming guilt written all across your face. He was your mentor and you had let him down. "Hawks...."

The police chief left soon after. "I'm sorry Hawks." You said. "I should have told you where I was going-"

"Save it, baby bird. I'm not disappointed." He said. "You did the right thing. You've made me proud. Be more careful next time." He winked at you and walked out.

That evening Katsuki came back to visit. You knew you weren't supposed to tell him but you told him every detail.

".....And he called me Bianca. Katsu, that was my mothers name." His eyes grew wide. "I'm sure theres an explanation, Y/N."

"Yeah... I hope so." You said. "But i dont want to know." Bakugou was about to tell you that you shouldn't let it go but he shut up. He knew how sensitive you got when your family was brought up.

Just then, Todoroki walked in, limping. "Y/N." He said but he noticed Bakugou there. He scowled. He didn't harbour any resentment for the blond but somehow, it always pissed him off when he saw him with you.

"Bakugou." He nodded, acknowledging him. "Does this belong to you?" He asked you, holding out the necklace.

Your eyes grew wide and you tried to grab it, completely forgetting about your condition, only to hiss in pain. "Yeah. It's mine." He handed it to you.

"It must have fallen while I was carrying you." He said. "Oh Todoroki! Thank you so much!" You said, gratefully. "You have no idea how much this means to me."

You gave him a warm smile and his heart jumped. "W-well I should probably get back now." He turned around and left.

You looked at Katsuki with guilt written all over your face. "Oh Katsu...." You started. "I'm so sorry! I should've been more careful! I promise I won't lose it again."

You sat up and wrapped your arms around him but he shrugged you off. "Tch." He scoffed. "Why does it matter?"

"What do you mean? I said I was sorry. I was kinda caught up in the moment to notice the necklace, you know."
"Yeah in Todoroki's arms."
"Katsu, I was dying!"
"Yeah and he carried you to the hospital? Saved your life? That's great."
"Katsuki! Don't be an asshole!"
"You're the one who lost my necklace!"

"I promise I didn't mean to lose it, Katsu. But you don't even care about that. All you care about is the fact that Todoroki carried me, when I was literally dying."

You looked away, exasperated. He just scoffed and walked out of the room.
