Him Again (Bakugou Katsuki x Reader)

8. The Match

Your fight had started. You had fifteen minutes on the clock. You walked around in search of Todoroki, excitement coursing through your veins.

You spotted him alone, walking towards you. You decided you send a powerful gust if wind his way as a greeting. It knocked him over backwards on impact but he mamaged to hold his ground.

Without saying a single word, he began charging towards you. He sent icicle spears your way which you easily swatted away stirring up the air nearby, sending them flying back towards him.

He then created a large wave like structure made of ice to block your attack, and you lost sight of him.

What the heck? Where did he disappear to? Just then, you felt a shadow over you. The fucker was coming at you from the sky?

You tucked and rolled out of the way, summoning a small dark grey coloured cloud , sending it his way.

He tried to destroy it, assuming it was some kind of attack but his hand went right through it.

Bingo. You released the cloud, letting it explode on him. He yelled out in pain as water coated his body and a small jolt of thunder immobilized him, causing him to let him guard down for just a second. But that was enough.

You lunged at him, pinning him down. Then, you sat on top of him and proceeded to punch his face at least thrice before he sent an attack straight for your hip, caught you to yell out in pain, knocking you off of him.

"Tell me where the bomb is." He said calmly as he began to pin you down in an attempt to detain you.

You attempted to kick him in the fact but he easily blocked it. But it worked since it gave you time to scramble to your feet.

He created a mountain of ice, spending it in your direction. Shoot. That was going to take you out for sure if it made contact.

But instead of trying to dodge, you just squeezed your eyes shut and concentrating. You summoned a heat wave which melted his ice just in time. It was inches away from your face.

You then lunged for him and the two of you began fighting without using your quirks. You were getting exhausted and you suffered a hard jab in the ribs sending you flying back, ramming into the concrete wall behind you. Something was broken for sure.

Todoroki stood tall, victorious. "Your quirk's good, but you lack in physical stamina and strength." He remarked.

Who asked. Asshole. You thought, bitter about your defeat.

You looked away disheartened, disappointed that your loss was probably going to result in your team's downfall but you All Might's voiced boomed through a speaker.

"Time's up. Villain team wins! Well done L/N Y/N and Kirishima Eijiro." A smile crept onto your face. Then, everything went black.

When you woke up you were lying on a mattress in the infirmary. You noticed Bakugou standing next to you.

"Bakugou?" You called out to him. "Good. You're awake." He replied trying to play it off but you saw his face flush with relief that you were okay.

"You fainted because you over exerted yourself." A voice said. Recovery girl. "You're free to go if you feel up to it."

"Well, i got to go now. I'm up next, so you better watch me put Deku 6 ft underground!" He declared. ".....feel... better." He added and took off.

"Thanks..?" You mumbled under your breath. "That boy carried you here, you know." Recovery girl told you.

You looked away blushing. You had assumed he did but why did it make you feel this way.

You had made your way back to your class, just in time before Bakugou's match began.

"Are you feeling better?" Uraraka looked at you, concerned. "I feel fine now, thanks." You smiled at her.

"Y/N!" Kirishima called out as he made his way towards you. "That was totally badass, the way you were able to take Todoroki on! Our plan worked perfectly!" He beamed, flashing his sharp teeth.

"Yeah..." You said "I'm still disappointed I couldn't beat Todoroki though..."
"The two of you were almost evenly matched though." Yaoyorozu said. "Don't beat yourself up too much. You did great." You gave her a warm smile which she returned.

Bakugou's match was about to begin. Everybody looked intently at the screen. And so did you. You were curious to see Bakugou's quirk and gauge his strength.

This was going to be interesting.
