Over the next two days you were in the hospital, Bakugou hadn't visited you. Not once. Why was he being like this? Mina had told you that he had been at your side the entire time you were unconscious. So where was he now that you had woken up?
"He knows." Mitsuki had said when you had asked her if Bakugou knew that you were awake. Your heart sank. Why didn't he want to see you?
That evening, you heard yelling in the hallway. The voices sounded familiar. The door opened "........and go in there and talk to her!" You heard Mitsuki say as she banged the door shut.
Bakugou walked up to you. You were so happy to see him, you almost got up to hug him, forgetting that you had a broken leg. But he looked unhappy.
"Katsu....." You said. "I'm much better." He tried to hide it but he was overjoyed that you were feeling better. "Y/N...." He trailed off, looking away.
"What's wrong?" You said, confused. You looked at him. His arm and head were wrapped in a bandage. Both had hands looked bruised and there were cuts all over his body. Guilt was written all over his face and he looked like he hadn't slept in ages.
"Are you okay?" You asked him.
"Am I okay?" He said bitterly. "You're the one who's been in the hospital for a week and I sent you here!"
"It's okay."
"How is it okay?"
"Because that's what happens when people battle! I don't hold it against you, Katsu!" You explained, flabbergasted that he thought you would be angry just because you had lost a fight against him. That was probably why he didn't visit."...... You don't hate me?"
"Of course not. Would you have hated me if i had won?"
He thought about it. You were right. That was no reason to hate somebody. He wouldn't have held it against you if the roles were switched. What had he been thinking? It sounded so stupid. He just assumed it would be a big deal to you because it was for him. He had been with you for the past week. He saw how badly he had hurt you and he couldn't forgive himself for it. He never wanted to see you like that again.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. For not visiting." He said, loud and clear. You were shocked at how sincere he was being. And he wasn't stupidly apologising about your injuries. He was apologising for the right thing.
You smiled at him. "I forgive you, Katsu." He took a seat next to you and interlocked his fingers with yours. He didn't care how desperate it seemed. He didnt care that you were gaining the upper hand and would tease him about it later. He was just glad you were going to be okay.
But you didn't say anything. To be honest you were shocked. Was he so shaken up that he would do something like that?
"You won first place. Just like you pledged you would. How do you feel?" He would have got mad at you under normal circumstances but he couldn't do it. Not today. "Damn half and half let me win." He grumbled.
"Katsu, are you alright?" You asked, concerned about his mental state.
"You have a broken leg."
"It doesn't even hurt. I'm getting discharged tomorrow morning. And I'm not talking about your injuries."
"That's cause of your painkillers, dumbass. And why wouldn't I be fine?"You gazed at Bakugou. The way you were looking at him was chipping at his walls, lowering his guard. He changed the topic. "How many hero agency requests did you get?" He asked.
"Ha! Bet i got more than you! 4108"
"Tch!"
"Ha! Loser!"
"What'd you just call me?"He began bothering with you for a while before you interrupted him.
"Katsuki. I need to tell you something." You began to explain the memories that had been coming back to you. His face paled.
"Garaki? Wasn't he Deku's doctor?" He said. You shrugged. "I don't know but I must have been about 6 years old. I know I don't remember everything but my memories with that Tenko guy are all gone. It had something to do with my family's death, I know it."
"......Y/N," Bakugou said, "their deaths must have been hard on you, I know. But that doesn't mean that it's connected to this."
"What? No, Katsu. He was always around! I just can't remember anything and he suddenly disappeared after my family died? It's suspicious you have to admit it."
"I'm not saying it's not. But don't draw conclusions like that. It's a stretch." He said trying to be as gentle as he could be for Bakugou.
"Fine...." You let it go. He was right. It did seem like a stretch.
After you had some dinner, Bakugou noticed you yawn. He made you lie down and placed a hand on your head, gently running his fingers through your hair until you fell asleep.
He leaned down, and his lips made contact with your forehead. "Good night, Y/N."
