Him Again (Bakugou Katsuki x Reader)

29. Internship

It was finally the day of the internship. You and Katsuki were beyond psyched. You had chosen to intern with pro hero Hawks since he was the highest ranked hero you had got a request from. And there was no way in hell you were going with Endeavor who wanted to marry you off with his child.

Besides, Hawks could teach you a lot since your quirk was associated with the weather and yue sky just like Hawks'. You were ecstatic to find that Tokoyami would be joining you. You'd have someone you knew.

You and Bakugou said your goodbyes at the bus station. He had gone with Best Jeanist and would be staying miles away from you and not next door anymore. The only way you could stay in touch was through text.

His parents were watching so you tried to make it as simple as possible. But as soon as you left their field of vision he ran up to you and hugged you from behind. "I'll kill you if you die." He said in typical Bakugou fashion.

"How's that work."
"It does."
"I'll consider it."
"You're a brat. Keep your mouth shut."
"And what if I don't? What're you going to do about it?"
He slipped his hand in yours and placed something in it. A small box. You flipped it open. And your jaw hit the ground.

It was a necklace. The same one you had been staring at a few days ago. The same blue diamond and everything. He had noticed you gawking at it and had gone ahead and bought it. It looked gorgeous but.... "Katsu... I can't believe you bought this for one. I can't accept this." You said putting it back into his hands. You had seen the price tag. It was far too expensive.

He just scoffed and snatched it from your hand. He flipped it open and quickly tied the necklace around you before you could protest.

"Katsu!" You exclaimed, absolutely baffled. "Shut up and take it. It wasn't that expensive. I actually bought it for myself. I want you to have it for safekeeping." He lied but you knew there was no point in arguing.

So you just simply turned around and embraced him. "Thank you, Katsu. I'll keep it safe." You said, kissed his cheek, making him so completely red.

You and Tokoyami made your way into the hero agency. It was spectacular. Much better than Endeavor's agency.

The two of you made your way to your rooms. Even the rooms were magnificent. There was a huge balcony perfect attached to every room. You felt like taking off right then and there.

That afternoon, you met with pro hero Hawks. "We'll work on quirks today." He said. "You're Y/N. I watched you fight. It was pretty impressive" You blushed. Hawks had watched you. And thought you were impressed.

"But you need training. Your speed and stamina need training and your control on your quirk is far from perfect but you have potential. Lots. And that's why I brought you here. Harnessing that kind of power is important for you to grow." He said to you.

"Follow me." You and Tokoyami followed him
as he made his way to the ledge of the balcony, standing on top of it. You and Tokoyami did the same, unsure of what he was trying to do. Then, without wasting a single second, he shoved the two of you right off.

The two of you stared at each other. You were in deep deep shit. Tokoyami couldn't fly and you couldn't harness any air currents strong enough to lift the two of you up when you were going at that velocity.

"Hold my hand!" You yelled. You tried your hardest to push yourself upwards but you were close to the ground now. Tokoyami was trying his best to latch onto things with his Dark Shadow to slow your fall but he couldn't save you. From about 10 feet above the ground, you went all out and began pushing you and Tokoyami upwards with all your might. You didn't know how you were able to do it but the two of you flew upwards a little before falling back down and making contact with the cold hard floor of Hawks agency. You had dampened the fall quite a bit though, so it was okay.

After you recovered from the fall, you looked upwards. I.am.going.to.kill.him. He had just tossed you from a building. He threw you. I mean that was attempted murder! What was he trying to do? Kill you? What was wrong with this hero?

Just then, you saw a figure fly downwards. Hawks. He landed on the floor on his toes, so gracefully, making the two of you look like absolute idiots.

"Ah! You beat me to it!" He said. You and Tokoyami were just about ready to punch the living daylights out of this man.

"C'mon baby birds," he said turning around, "no time to lay around. We've got work to do. The streets aren't going to patrol themselves."

"W-weren't we going to work on quirks?" You said, shocked at his sudden change in demeanor. "Yeah. And we did." He pointed upwards. "That was the work. And you both failed. Let's go."

Regardless of the previous death scare you had, you were quite excited for patrol. Ha! I bet Katsu hasn't been able to do it yet! You smirked.

Your smirk was effectively wiped off soon after your patrol began. Not yours as much as it was just Hawks'. He flew around the city, capturing criminals, stropping thefts, fighting villains while you and Tokoyami trailed behind him on foot, struggling to keep up like lost fledglings as he would call you.

You were keeping up at the beginning, trailing after him perfectly but you couldn't keep it up for long with having to lift Tokoyami too, already being exhausted from the events of earlier.

You returned to the agency that night, exasperated with Hawks, ranting about it with Tokoyami.

You wished him a good night and returned to your room.
